OMG I have had the worst evening.
The toilets at work, clogged up yesterday, would not flush, plunge.
Well somehow, overnight it got better. I don't know if the water slowly drained out or what.
So my idiot boss would not come assess it yesterday or call the plumber.
When they came in today, somehow they were working. Well, I was VERY sick today. Pain for 12 hours all night, BIG D and I didn't go in till 12. I called and made sure they were working and they said they were.
I assumed the cleaner person had better equipment and worked with it.
WRONG!
So today, I had eaten like 6 nuggets and 3 small Christmas cookies. Well, of course I had to go and I did, thank God above. However, as I was flushing the last amount of paper, very gingerly and carefully
OMG clogged. It would not plunge and the plunger kept turning inside out and splashing water everywhere.
So I thought, we need a better plunger. Well, everyone was about to leave except for me and my coworker, we were to work by ourselves 3 more hours. My boss says, put a plunger on the supply request form. Oh Gee thanks!
I begged and my coworker went and bought a plunger. Well she comes back with a piddly one worse than the one we have!
And my boss stayed behind and watched me try to plunge, again thanks! Water slinging, ICK And to no avail, nada.
So, she says let me work it, in a huff, like I was stupid. She flooded the floor!
So she would not call a plumber and would not let us close. However, me and my coworker who both have IBS was to last 3 hours, no plumbing and not allowed to leave.
So, I told my boss, we could not take that chance. Well, she says do you need to use the bathroom, well not NOW but I don't know what can happen.
So she huffily agreed to stay and be our "security blanket" Well, dang woman, don't you ever have to go? And I cannot help it.
So, she stayed and I made it through. But we only had 4 partons and an ice storm started, AGAIN why couldn't we leave? So when I did leave, the car was rock solid and it was getting dangerous out.
And if the director closes tomorrow, there will be no plumber called. Then, they will expect me and my IBS cohort to work 5 HOURS ALONE, with NO PLUMBING
What do I do?
Oh man thats terrible Katy. I wish I had an answer for you on that one. I can't believe your boss wouldn't call a plumber, thats crazy. The only thing that I can suggest is to maybe have some emergency Imodium or take it beforehand. I'm so sorry, that really sucks!!

Katy, what a horrific story. Those conditions are unacceptable.... something needs to be done. With that said, I'm with dbab - take Imodium. I do that on special occasions, and I think this situation would definitely qualify.

If this becomes a lingering problem, contact OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). I'm pretty sure your employer has to provide you with access to a functional restroom by law. Not to mention that an overflowing toliet is a health and occupational hazard (disease and falling). And make sure you emphasis that you and a co-worker both have a stomach disorder that sometimes require frequent bathroom trips. They have to provide for your disability, even if they didn't already have to provide a bathroom for your humanity.
