Help! What is wrong with my daughter!

My daughter is 20 years old by now. All these problems started 1-1/2 years ago, when we got back from Mexico and she started college. She has terrible pain from center of stomach to right side. She is now having burning in her right foot on top, pins and needles on bottom of foot. Right hand feels numb. When she gets her eruptions Rheumatologist put her on prednisone twice and within 5 hrs. her foot went back to normal. The foot swells up and has problems getting a sneaker on. We are so confused first we were told by gastro that the foot might have something to do with her inflammatory bowel problem. That seems to be under control other than tenderness but now they want her to go to a neurologist and foot doctor. MRI and xrays came out normal. Meanwhile she ends up on crutches when the foot gets really burning hot and on fire. Is there anyone that has IBS and problems with extremeties. They say it is some kind of auto immune thing. Thank you.
Hi Stacy's mom,

Welcome to HealingWell! :-)
Sorry to hear about your daughter. I am a little skeptical to believe your daughter has IBS. How are her bowel habits? I have never heard of these extremety problems as extensive as hers with IBS.
I don't want to scare you but... Has she had a full blood work up? I think I've heard Lupus does this. (not sure though)
Hopefully someone will come along with better answers for you.
Take care and please keep us posted.

i am sorry. have a celiac blood panel done too... (can cause the tingling in the limbs, it is the allergy/intolerance to gluten, and it is an auto immune issue...)
but could the Mexico trip have anything to do with it? parasite maybe?
best of luck,

what would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?
