I'm sorry to hear you are hurting so bad with no relief. I hope that changes soon. Can you see a different doctor? Even a primary to make sure nothing else is going on? I get like that right before I get sick....possibly there is something else that will help give you relief or they can give you some prednasone until your rhuemy returns?

If the warmth is helping - do you have an electric blanket? Not the same as a the moist heat of a bath or water bottle - but maybe you can try to make yourself as comfortable as possible in bed and cover up with the blanket? That way you get the constant heat everywhere you need it. I know in June it might be too much in some areas.....

Anyway, just a thought. If it's a stupid idea, I won't take offense if you vent back why! I've been living in SoCal for so long, I can't remember how those blankets work/feel.

I hope you feel better soon.
Hi CaMama,

Thanks for your reply and what you had to say is not crazy.I don't have a heating blanket but I do think that I'am going to get on.I seen my ENT doc today and I have a severe sinus infection so now I'am on Flagyl500mg and I'am on Levaquin 500mg for ten day's and if that does not get it well then it surgery.I just had my tonsils taken out in March.

Curley.........

Yikes, Curley. You DO have a lot going on and I bet that is why you are aching so bad! sad   Feel better soon.  I'm on my 9th day of antibiotic for pneumonia and I'm JUST starting to feel better this morning! I've taken Levaquin before - man, that is some insane stuff.

Take care.

Hi CaMama,

I have to agree with you on the Levaquin I hate to take it but it's better than having surgery.Might have to have surgery any way but at least I can say that I have done every thing that I was told to do.I hate that you have been dealing with pneumonia blees your heart.I had double pneumonia a couple of years ago and I don't ever want it again.I was in the hospital for eight day's.Hope that you continue to feel better.

What type of surgery do they do for a sinus infection? Is it very intrusive? Yikes. I hope the double meds kicks this for you, that would be awful to have to go through surgery while feeling so rotten even though it is supposed to make you feel better. But doubly rotten since you just had surgery in March. All that anesthesia can't be good for you.

I had my tonsils and adnoids taken out when I was 15 - I rememeber how painfully hard that was to recouperate from. And I had it done in December!

I'm on the mend - finally! I have an inhaler and codeine to help me out. Though, I haven't been taking my plaquinil while sick and my joints are starting to remind me of it.  I hope you can say the same (being on the mend part...) Do keep me informed on your progress and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for your non-surgical recovery!

So sorry to hear that you guys are under the weather. Sinus infections and chest infections are so hard to get rid of when you are on arthritis meds. I pray for healing for both of you and hope that you mend very quickly.

I'm finally on the mend. Hubby is gone for a week and hope that taking care of kids and trying to rest at the same time doesn't do me in! Remicade infusion postponed indefinitely! sad   Hopefully there will be no problems in getting it once I'm okay for it.

Curley, I hope you are feeling better!!! Not hearing from you makes me worried you had to have surgery. Maybe I'll poke around Chron's site and see if you've been online.

Dear curley,

I was put on levaquin for a sinus infection and bronchitis once and it sure made my arthritis worse. I found out later that muscle aches was listed as one of the possible side effects. However I can understand curley why you would take that as opposed to surgery. My understanding on sinus surgery is that it is very painful and sometimes needs to be repeated. If you get a chance look at the post made by Keah on how to avoid sinus infections. There is a homeopathic doctor here, on breakfast television in Toronto that comes on the morning news, and he swears by a special steam clean every day to prevent sinus infections. I use saline solutions and secaris a lubricating gel for more serious congestion. I also put these patches that you can only get in chinese stores. They are quite resonable. Much more reasonably priced than the regular menthol patches you buy at the regular drug store. There are two kinds, salonpas, and something like Toukohan. They are both basically menthoyl patches with aspirin or tylenol. For sinus infections or migraines I cut them to the right size and place them exactly where the pain is. Just make sure you avoid your eyes, and wash your hands after you use them. I also use the same patches on my arthritis. Some nights I will have ten to twenty of them on each leg from the knee down and two or three on the wrists, a couple on elbows, ankles, and a few on lower back. The standing joke is that I look like a mummy some nights. However because they are so reasonable , you can get like 40 patches for two dollars in Canada, that I can afford to use them freely. I always keep a couple in my wallet for emergencies. I swear they sometimes work better than the strongest pain killer. I have checked with several of my doctors and none of them have any objections to me using them. In fact at one point my family doctor started using them herself for migraine headaches. I hope you can find them. I really prefer them to tiger balm. Tiger balm does not work nearly as well for me and is much messier. They also seem to act like a tensor on my knees and give me strength. Hope they can help you too.

Judy,
i was impressed with your info girl! very nice. i tell ya, the chinese and asian culture definitely know something! WE SHOULD NIC-NAME YOU PATCHES! do these patches contain capsasin? i am very glad they provide some relief. also, it's good to hear of some remedies that do not wreck havoc even more on our systems.
that's interesting the nasal cleansing thing! a lot of my girlfriends who are nurses are into homeopathics and even Darhma therapy and reiki. they are certified in those areas as well. you've a great combo... eastern & western medicine. kick's butt!
uuugghh...Levaquin can be brutal. let me tell you.....i had to be on high doses of Levaquin in combination with a few other antibiotics when i was being treated for Lymes and the Levaquin does indeed cause major pains. not only i the muscles... but what it did with me is it drew out the bacteria from my joints and my knees blew up and it took ya to tears! i called my neurologist about it and she said "oh yea....that's the levaquin."  geeesh!
so yea, that's a med i agree is best kept far far away if we can prevent it!!!
the saline cleansing is everyday? that's dedication. how long have you been doing it? and is this typically for chronic sinus sufferers? nice info!
take care! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) ERIN

And top off not feeling my crohns is acting up been very nauseated can't eat any thing because I throw it all back-up even liquids is hard to keep down.

I also got a letter from my insurance(I'am on Tenn-care and Medicade)to day and I can only get five scripts a month.(2 name brand 3 generic)the rest I will have to pay for are not take them.

Thanks for all the support that you'll have given it really does mean alot.

Curley, I have had sinus surgery and it is OK, not like in the old days, and you will fill better. I have Ra and Lupus and Fibro, Deg disc disease and chronic sinus, with a few other's thrown in. Do the surgery, afterr a week you will wonder what the fuss was all about. Good luck
Momom,,

Thanks for letting me know about the surgey.I would like to ask how bad was the pain after the surgey? My ENT said that for the first week that I will hurt pretty good and the reason for that is I have cyst in my sinus cavatiy.

Curley.....
Dear Curley,
I am sorry that you have to have surgery. Will this surgery be done as an outpatient, or will you have to stay in the hospital for awhile. You have really been through a lot lately. Perhaps the surgery caused an increase in your arthritc pain. From what I understand persons with arthritis have a difficult time with their arthritis during the recovery stage of surgery.

I will keep you in my prayers.
God Bless,
Judy/effie
curley,
will keep you in my thoughts & prayers. sending you blessings and strentgh during this time. speedy recovery with this surgery!
sincerely,
erin
Curley, you are in my thoughts and prayers as well. Take care and I hope the surgery goes smooth and the pain non-existant.

if its getting worse and not healing why wait for your doctor to come?
go to an alternate doctor and do something quickly otherwise the pain may increase
