Hello to all!
I am a new member, and I feel rather old today, I have hep c, been suffering for 30 yrs. After many endless problems, I received a liver transplant 6 year ago. There have been frighting ups and downs, along this painful road, but I do feel rather low this past two yrs especially. Each week something like a cold pains in joints, throbbing head aches, extreme tiredness all seems to dominate these days.
I am a strong person usually, trying slowly fighting this god dam illness.
I find meditation does seem to help, put alas. I’m crying, wondering when One week will go by without getting a reminder that you don’t get away with leading an ordinary every day life without suffering after receiving a Transplanted Organ. I do love life, I have learnt to listen to my body telling me to slow down, I do rest more each day, Will I get back to the way I need to be.. Please if there are any siters out there, willing to share their new found wisdom I would welcome with open arms.
I wish each and all happiness and health best wishes. Joa.
hay-jo, I am so sorry you are feeling down. Yes, meditation is good. So is venting and sharing here. I will suggest starting a gratitude list. You will be amazed at how much you have to be grateful for!
I have had hep C for 35 years, and developed liver cancer. Even though the cancer has been almost entirely eliminated, I still feel fatigued and with no energy or motivation. I sleep a lot, though not as much as when I first received cancer treatments.
After your transplant, did you receive hep C treatment? If the hep C is still in your blood stream, then you will naturally feel tired and depressed. When was the last time you saw a hepatologist? The good news is that you are still here. The bad news is that your life will never be as it was. We go through cycles in life, and this is just another cycle. I feel fortunate to have done a great many things in my younger years, traveled all over the US, had some accomplishments.
I am happy to hear you say that you are listening to your body more. Use that ability and nap when you need to, if possible. And please do get checked out by a physician soon!
