I am in a reallly bad mood..can you tell I am pouting ?
I had my appointment with my Onc yesterday to discuss
the results of the latest tests. I had a bone scan in early December and then again 10 days ago. there was a huge change in the Dec scan and more change in the January
scan. Also the tumor markers just keep on rising. So, the
long and short of it is that in March I will be starting Taxotere. She wanted me to start sooner but I refused...I am going to Florida from Feb 24 until March 5th and refuse
to have that ruined...(Dont I sound like a spoiled brat ??)
I am very upset..didnt think I would have to do this again
but no such luck.
The pain is bad so they increased the Oxycontin again.
I also take Oxycodone ....My ribs on the left side are so painful and so is my left femur, my arm etc ...sure hope the increased meds helps the pain....
I want to thank all of you who have kept me in your thoughts
and prayers. I do appreciate it ! You all are the best.
Love and Hugs
Cathi

{{{{{{{{{CATHI}}}}}}}}} OH sweetie I am so sorry to hear you have to do this again! I remember you telling me about your first go round with Taxotere. And NO you do NOT sound like a spoiled brat. You say whatever you want. Go and enjoy your trip. You know you are in my thoughts and prayers dear friend. L&H, Gail

OH Cathi I am so sorry. I don't blame you for wanting to wait until you have your vacation. I can't imagine living with the pain you do. Here I am with a little bit of flu acting like a sick baby. DH even cooked his own dinner tonight. LOL. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that some good Florida sunshine will help you feel better at least. Take care and feel our hugs surrounding you and our prayers to help carry you. Love MK
Cathi, My heart breaks for you, friend. You have had so much *(#*$( heaped on you and it just makes me so sad. My prayers are and will remain with you. I hope the new plan will work wonders for you. I don't play you at all for waiting to start. Go enjoy your vacation. Gather your strength and get ready to fight!
Aaww, CRUD! This is not fair! I am so mad with you... this is just not fair. Have you had a 2nd opinion? Maybe there are other options besides Taxotere and other options for pain management...
At the very least, know that I am not far from you in thought and prayer. And offering all the cyberhugs I can muster....
My heart is breaking for you sweetie. What a hard blow this must have been to you. I don't blame you for one minute for waiting until after your trip. You deserve some time to just "chill out".
Love you my friend. Sending you warm and gentle hugs from Shreve {{{{{HUGS}}}}}}.
Praying that the pain will subside for you.
Please take care.
Bless you! Debbie ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ ^j^ (thought that a few extra angels can't hurt, right?)

Cathi- My warmest hugs go out to you... this really suck$. I don't blame you one bit for wanting your vacation time before starting Taxotere....your onc should understand that too. I'm sure you've done everything for the pain...have you ever heard of cherry extracts? I am *not* an herb supplement person, I just know one of my friends (who is) says that helped her husbands arthritis totally disappear. They were tablets she got at Walmart or Target ... just an idea. Take care and know that we are all praying hard for you... hugs, Stefanie
Oh, Sweetie, I hope the meds give you relief, too. I'm so glad you're taking a trip and taking control of your experience. I'm so sorry you have to do the taxotere. I'll be praying for you daily! I think of you often. Have a great trip when you go!"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." -Confucius
(((((Cahi))))))) This just stinks!!! So sorry you are still fighting this battle. I hope you have a good time in Florida and come back ready for more treatments. Gentle hugs, Lauri

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
I am so sad for you to have to go through all of this again. Hopefully the meds will help decrease the pain so you can enjoy your trip to FL. You need to get away from the Ohio snow and get some warm FL sunshine.
Can't remember, did Taxotere bother you before? That is what I took combined with Adriamycin on during my initial treatments, and didn't have any problems except toenails turned black. I think it is some good stuff if you can tolerate it and hopefully you can.
Hang in there,.sweetie, I will have to give you a call one of these evenings on my way home again. Take care and get ready for that well deserved vacation.
I will continue to have you in my prayers. Enjoy the vacation to the absolute fullest. The mind needs treatment too, and a vacation is the best medicine. Stay strong.
OH NO!!! This just can't be! Cathi, I am so sorry and like Joyce I am at a loss for words. Glad to hear you are taking that vacation before starting another round of treatment. I am so sorry you are in pain and having this setback. Please know that we all love you and you are in our prayers. Enjoy Florida and take care of yourself. Love you

Today is a gift, that's why they call it the present!
Oh Cath, I'm sorry the tests came out the way they did. Please know you are always in my thoughts and prayers and I always have that shoulder ready. We'll be there with you each step of the way, just watch for the pink feathers.
I'm glad you are able to get away for some rest (and warmth). Florida sounds great to me. Love and Hugs, Libby
Friends are God's way of taking really good care of us.
So sorry that things aren't well right now. I don't blame you about the vacation - tell you onc to take a chill pill - while you vacation - you've definitely earned it!!!
Will be praying for you during this time with more taxotere. I hope the pain meds help you a little more. It really stinks and is grossly unfair that you have to do this.
Let us know how things go with the pain meds and the taxotere. Know that many prayers are going up for you!

Cathi, What I am thinking I couldn't print. Mad is an understatement. Just know that I love you and you are always in my prayers. Please take that vacation. I know that we don't feel like doing it on chemo. Take the trip and plan another one for the end of this treatment. Love you so much. Di
Much like Di, what I want to say can't be posted. Go and enjoy your trip to FL...you deserve it. I hope that they medicine that they gave you will bring you more relif form the pain. I love you lots and always think about you.
