Hi. I guess the best place to start is that I was diagnosed BP 5 years ago and doing really well, or so I thought. about 2 weeks ago, I went into a huge manic and had a med breakthrough. Needless to say, I'm a wreck. My go to person is now on anti-depressants, so she couldn't be there for me so my whole sense of stabilty is now gone. My mom is the only person who has taken the time to learn anything about my illness and my day just got hit with my manic. My brothers bury their head in the sand and tell me not to burden them with my problem because "we all have problems." My family doesn't communicate at all. I'm not married, no children but I do have a great circle of friends. Thank God for that. But they don't know what it's like. I'm hoping that writing all this down here, I can find some circle that knows what it's like a mile in my shoes.
I am new too with a BP boyfriend. I think you will find what you are looking for here. There seems to be a great group of people who are supportive and understanding here. I know what its like to spinning in circles looking for someone to vent to. I think being here will help with that need.
Welcome to Healingwell. Have you spoken to your doctor yet? It sounds like you may need a med adjustment. While meds keep us stable most of the time, occasionally we do have episodes that require a little adjustment. I know how miserable that can be.
We do all understand here. I've sure walked that mile or 20 in your shoes. lol This is a wonderful group for support and information. It's also important that you don't leave your doctor out of the loop though.
Glad you found us but sorry you had a reason to.
Take Care

Good judgement comes from experience and alot of that comes from bad judgement.
Thanks for all the well wishes and the support. And yes, I've already had my meds adjusted. I was in his office within 2 days. I would never want to go back to the way I was before that' why this scared me so much.
Hang in there. It's going to take a little time before that adjustment kicks in. I'm sure if you're on meds you know how that works. The waiting to feel normal really stinks though. God Bless EllieGood judgement comes from experience and alot of that comes from bad judgement.
Welcome to the forum at this website. I can relate to a lot of what you are going through. I have been stable for about three years, and I know it would be devastating to have a manic episode again.
It is hard to talk to other people about having bipolar disorder. Even if they are supportive, they still don't know how it feels. My family tries to be supportive about what I am going through sometimes it seems like they just don't get it. I have not even told my friends that I have bipolar disorder yet. I went to a local support group for a while, but due to my schedule I can't make it anymore. This group is a good place to get out your feelings about bipolar disorder.
Welcome to healing Well. I have not been here long myself but i can tell you the whole healing well forum is made up of the most caring fantastic bunch of people I have met online in long time. I hear you on the family playing ostrich issue LOL. After a while I got sick of pulling their heads out of the sand and left them there. it was just too much trouble for me. (toxic people strike again).
I am sure you will find plenty of support and some wonderfull freinds here.
Best wishes
