I got to see my Rads Onc today ( the one I told and he ordered tests )

I did get some info today about a plan of attack. We are just going to take it out and radiate. They said the margins should be clear. It's a totally different cancer. It is the same kind, yet this one is ER+. Ummmm. I wasn't aware I had alot of estrogen since I have been menopausal for over a year. But, then again, I was pregnant and my estrogen/horomones went crazy, I am sure. This is all crap. it makes no sense to me. eyes It's a stage 1 b/c they didn't feel any lymph nodes and it was just calcifications. ( not that it matters, where else can it spread? I only have like one or two things left that it can invade! ) So I am doing a lumpectomy and rads, so far. I see my Onc on Monday. I am going to try and hold off until after the holidays if I can for chemo. (They are doing a bone scan and CT scans from my pelvic area to my head. That will be Wed.) I will have to do 7 weeks of rads, I am sure. So with the surgery healing time and the rads, it should be after X-mas before we do chemo. Unless something drastic happens. This is annoying. But I will deal with it, if it treats me nice. My TM wasn't up drastically either. It had only gone up 8 points in like 3 months. I am glad I listened to my gut and had it checked out when I felt it. I am so grateful that I know when something is not right. Like a special little gift I have for myself. ( and not just with me, but I can sense other things too, it's weird. ) Oh well. that is my news for now. I will keep you updated as I get my info! LOL

Thanks again for all your support. It means ALOT to me.

L&H to you ALL,
Shelley

Hey Shelley!

A new primary! THAT is what I was praying for. And tiny enough that rads will zap it. By this being a new primary that means your mets did not spread to your other breast. It sounds to me like you showed Club Mets who's the boss.

And only 8 point increase in your TMs? That could be anything from a cup of coffee to too much diet coke!

I think you have a good plan. I am so relieved you don't have to start with some big nightmare production again. I remember my chemo nurses all said to me - if it comes back you want it as a New Primary. OK- You got it!

ER+??? Good lord. Sometimes I wonder about all these factors you know?

Well I think this is good and DOABLE news.

It still bites big time- but you bit it back!

THANK GOD.

But I am still sending you my neighbor to yell at.

Love,

Jessie

Ditto what Jessie said Shell. So glad you had that checked and have a plan of attack. Always follow your gut. And, yell at Jessie's neighbor for me to, ok.

Shelley, you always amaze me. Love ya, Joyce

ER+ even after being on ovary-shutdown? What are the chances of that? I guess it goes to show that nothing we do is 100%. We can reduce chances of things, but nothing is for sure. Drats. But in comparison to all you have been through, this sounds like just a little bump in the road. We'll be there with you every step, but I think you'll be great!

Lori

Shelley

I sure hope you can put the chemo off until after the holidays..the surgery and radiation
shouldnt be bad, just annoying. Your strength & courage amazes me...

Love and hugs for you and Kalia

I know you must be grateful for your gift. I am a strong believer in going with my gut, too. It has saved my a$$ in more than 1 situation.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get to wait until after the holidays for chemo. Surgery & rads should take you through then. This is a lump in the road, but you can do it. I sure wish that you could get through life without any more potholes in the road, though. grrrrr

Love you, my friend. Sending hugs your way

Michele

Hi Shells,

I'm just so thankful they can treat this new occurrance by surgery and radiation. Thank God you caught it early. I'll keep you in my prayers. Hang in there, Shells.
