I think my daughter might be bipolar, what are the warning signs?

My sister's son is bipolar. He has extreme mood swings and he cycles from giddy and very childlike to depressed, angry and mean. He has also heard voices in his head.
I am bipolar, the worst symptoms for me are the mood swings. At my high points, I am insanely happy and pleasant, I talk fast and constantly, I have trouble staying still and sleeping. During low points, I am very sad and depressed, cry a lot, stay very quiet, keep to myself and I get so tired that I can't bring myself to get out of bed. Sometimes during low points I get very angry and frustrated. I tend to snap at people easily during those times.
How old is your daughter? The responses so far are very telling, does this sound familiar?
In children, ADHD and bipolar are very similar and often mistaken for each other. If you feel that she is either, you need to get her to a psychiatrist NOT a GP for a diagnosis.
