hi,

i have been dealing with bloating/pressure on the right side for 3 months. i take enulose for constipation, but my dr switchd me to miralax. i have the feeling of not going all the way. i have had lost of tests done & all is normal. he has not done any tests on the small bowel. is this necessary? my colonscopy was completely normal. I am misreable, though. now i feel like i cannot go to the bathroom. i think my dr is tired of me, always calling & asking if there are more tests to do. i used to be so regular & now this is really effecting my life & i am so upset. my dr just prescribed me donnatol extend tabs. has anyone avery atken this & have they had good results. i heard it can help with constipation or diarrea. i would love to hear back.

Hi Kim,
I haven't taken Donnatal but I feel your frustration and wanted to send you (((hugs))). I do take another antispasmodic (symax) and it works well with the cramping pain that you get with both D and C so I hope this medication works well for you. Just be patient right now on the responses, I know a lot of people are not on so much right now with the holiday but I'm sure you will get some input on this soon.

Hi Kim,
I know you are going through a tough time and the last thing you want are more tests.... but, it is a great way to rule everything out. What sort of small bowel test is your doc talking about? I hear the camera pill isn't so bad.
Please don't be offended by this... are you on any anti depressant? If not, even if you are not "depressed" it is possible it will help your IBS. Has your doctor ever brought this up?
Sorry, I haven't taken Donnatal. Hopefully someone will come along who has.
