I've had C/D alternating a bit, but that's been going on for months if not longer. What's new is some back pain. In some ways, it seems like tenesmus - in that it can feel a bit like a urge to go to the bathroom. But this waxes and wanes with a dull pain that is more centralized on my tailbone, than on any part of my GI tract.
Further, I've made huge dietary changes over the past month, and to some extent have the c/d under control. However, I still have this chronic feeling of pain and tension in my lower back. It seems to be the worst from moving around - I spent most of the afternoon laying on a couch, and at a certain point, really thought I didn't feel any pain at all. I've since gone to a grocery store and then come home, and I have pain, it feels like, about a centimeter away from my tailbone.
If this is "just" IBS, I'm goign to have to learn to live with it, but I guess I'm a bit concerned that it could be something else. Can anyone relate to this kind of pain?
Additionally, I've been feeling sort of "punky" on and off. Like I'm sick, but I don't have a fever or cough.
Sorry for all the question threads, I am, as always, scared and confused.
Don't apologize for frequent posting... that is why we're here.
I'm sorry you are in so much discomfort. I don't have this pain so I can't really relate or help you. But, have you seen a chiropractor? Maybe you are out of line and just need a good adjustment.
I hope someone else will come along that can help you.

Hi there
I sometimes get lower back pain with my IBS - but it comes and goes, it isn't constant and i wouldn't say its so bad that i have to stop what i'm doing and lay down, at least not for very long.
For you it could be a bad side effect of your IBS, but i'd say get it checked out anyway just to rule out it being anything more sinister
i have UC and IBS.I am also experiencing back pain which is quite severe.its like there is pressure building around my lower back.this pain actually spreads to tailbone and my lower groin area.this is a first for me as no other flare up has included back pain. i cant lie in my bed or sit for too long.i usually get most relief by actually standing up and leaning against wall or walking slowly around the house.i have walked a marathon today round house ha ha!Backpain usually doesnt start until 2 or 3pm with me.hope this is of some help to you.

I have IBS, I hate it but I live with it. Answer is yes, I get lower back pain which is not in spine. When i try to rotate right or left i get the pain.
The pain goes to my sides and groin. Sometimes it shoots to my chest (briefly). When i take a good dump (usually in 3 installments at least), the pain is reduced and goes away after a long 3-4 miles walk.
Eat yoghurt, not the american kind, the real plain non sweetened yoghurt. Your guts and mine have bacteria that was induced by the
evil american corp research offices. Try to unhook yourself from the pervasive american culture. Loose weight and eat less but eat
high quality food (organic meats and grains). Stop visiting the mcdonald and the rest of the fast food chains. Those are outlets to dispense
diseases designed by the evil american corp.
This is my ranting, please take it or leave it. I have been IBS free for 2-3 years. I dropped the relaxadon and the stupid US corp made
drugs. Do not trust any thing they tell you. Try to relax and enjoy life pain free for the brief time you are here. Oh one thing that helped
me was:
I used to believe in God and his illegit son and all the myth. I used to be upset when bad things happened to me because I confessed
my sins and ate Jesus body and drank his blood and still got IBS. I decided to drop those unrealistic ideas and became an atheist. I have
been feeling better since then.
These are my 2 cents worth. Good luck and keep experimenting.
I also have exact same sympotms with my ibs, when rotating my body left and right the back pain increases. It's good to know that I'm not delusional :)
