I just did this EXACT same thing last Friday.. it was my first one and I was a WRECK I was so scared.. guess what? My worry was all for nothing.. Like you I had all the same symptoms but to make matters worse I am having a VERY hard time swallowing solid food so I thought for sure I had cancer and its been 10 YEARS of this for me and I was always too scared to get the scope.. My GI doc found NO cancer :) As it turns out I have GERD, Hiatal hernia, Gastristis, inflammation of the small intestin as well as the esophagus..Sounds like you're dealing with the same.. GERD and gastritis.. Try and relax, I dont think you have cancer and its only been 2 years. I went atleast 10 like this... Please let us know how you make out we'll be thinking of you :)

Thankyou so much for replying so quickly, its so good to hear from people who are going throught the same, I suuffer from anxiety and panic attacks so I guess that dosnt help the way Im feeling.
Im so glad to hear you were clear but it still dosnt help the other symptoms does it what a nightmare.
I also wonder if I may have a hiatal hernai as My dad has one and my cousin just had his operated on.
I will post later to let you know how I go.

Im back in one peice- but god it was awful lot worse than I expected she couldnt get it into my upper intestine either so she was pushing and shoving god did I gag I was so pleased when she took it out.
I have to admit I dont have a sore throat!!
Anyway everything is ok I dont have cancer but do have a hiatal hernia which is causing the reflux.

Im glad you made it through OK but I"m really sorry this doctor wasn't gentle with you that just stinks.. But hey thank goodness it's all over with and look NO CANCER!! WOOHOOO. :) You have a hiatal Hernia.. Me too.. DId the doc say how big the hernia was? I was so looped after my scope I dont remember what my GI guy said and he's been out of his office all week this week. I dont see him until Monday.. Anyway Im so glad everything went OK! :)

Hi marxxx,
after my consultation I think I waited about 4 weeks for the test.
They will tell you that you canbe sedated or have your throat numbed I went for my throat being numbed to be completley honest it wasnt a pleasant experience but it wasnt painful more annoying than anything and it only takes a few minutes- I am a real softie so if I can do it you can too : )

By the way strawberrys&C- they said my hernia wasnt overly big- I thought to say it wasnt big it sure has caused me 2 years of hell!! But they say I should be able to keep it under control with PPI's lifting the bed diet controll etc- Im going to my doctor next week to discuss medication I currently take 30mg of zoton once a day but could do with something to take twice a day cause find it dosnt last me right through.
