Oh my gosh, I can not believe that my baby is six years old and starting first grade on August 24th.  It seems like only yesterday she was born.  She is growing by leaps and bounds and has a mouth to match.  I can not believe what she comes up with at times.
 
This past week I had to write up an article regarding my dealings with cancer.  My girlfriend in Tennessee has been active in the Relay for life event down there.  She had asked me for my story so that she could tell it to her team members.  I never knew that she started doing the Relay because of me.  I was so honored to be told this. 
 
And soon I am going to be desert bound. Well in October anyways. My brother is active in the Race for the Cure in Phoenix and has been after for me several years to come out to it.  So we are heading out this year.   I am in need of a desertfix in the worse way.

now you do yours and get us that cure.

Isn't it just great when you have a chance to get the story spread around? We don't see you often enough on the board, but, we are all very proud of you.

Ah, the desert. Like my backyard? Nothing can live without water. I think that was one of the first things noted about life in general. Someone forgot to tell Texas. I'm so glad you're going to get your fix.

I am trying to fix something here and just had to find out how to get a part that was defective. You get a desert fix and I get to fix something. There is something not very fair here, isn't there Annette?

PS - Jordan is how old? No way. My Joseph will be 9 on the 19th, the child born when the drs told me I'd be leaving. I remember when all of mine had their first day of school. They didn't cry, they walked right in without turning around, and I was the only one wiping away the tears.

Hard to believe that Jordan is heading off to school!!! It is amazing how fast these little ones grow up. DGD Melanie Rose is now 2 and has a mouth to match. LOL Her favorite words are No and Mine. Remember those days. DD is really struggling with her independent 2-year-old. Ah, how sweet it is. Enjoy your desert fix. Sounds like it will be a good time. Nice to see you drop in again, Annette. Yeah, we took my "baby" to college today....no tears from any of us, but I'm feeling it already. Poor Sara also just broke up with her boyfriend of almost two years, so she's got that also. Hope they keep her REAL BUSY. She is actually at Band Camp for the first week, and won't start classes until a week from tomorrow. If Marshall's Thundering Herd (yeah, I know, great name, LOL) Band is ever on TV, and they might be since they'll be playing at a Bengals game (at least, I think they are), watch for a short saxophone player!!!!

(My DS is still home, and won't head off to college for his sophomore year until mid-September....then we'll truly be EMPTY NESTERS. Don't know yet how I feel about that.)

That was rude of me, going on about my DD....I forgot to tell Annette that I CAN'T BELIEVE Jordan is six already. Didn't I just hear you talking about toilet training?????

Oh dear little Jordan is a big girl now! I bet she will be great in school, too. I wish I could see her and talk to her for a bit. I love little kids and their conversations. I helped in first grade when my grand daughter was there and the kids were so precious. Now Natalie is going into fourth grade and has a motor mouth. I love her to pieces but when she is here for a few hours it just wears me out, she talks constantly!!!! She says interesting things, too, but sometimes I have to tell her to rest it for a bit. LOL. Give Jordan a hug for me, Love MK

Happy Belated Birthday wishes to Jordan.  Wow, 6 already.  Enjoy these times, Annette, they go by too quickly.  We had the pleasure of having our granddaughter come here after school from first grade to mid fifth grade (DH watched her).  We have many Mary stories that we share on our morning walks now.  Who would think filling a bathtub and sinks in a Barbie house would now be one of our precious memories.  Enjoy making memories with your Jordan.

I'm glad you are able to get your "desert fix".  I'm heading out earlier this year as we have to babysit grandson mid September.  I think I should have gone in October instead of August (oh well, it IS hotter in NJ than in AZ lately)... will have to think about that for next year.

It seems like my daughter was just six last year, but she is already 15. I can truly tell you from ages 3-8 are some of the sweetest memories.They are suddenly becoming thier own person.Enjoy.

Annette, just the picture of our baby Jordan growing into a first grade young girl is quite an illustration of how long our group has been together -- and still growing! You're allowed a tear her first day of school. Just think of the adventures she'll have to tell you about at the end of the day.

And as for your grand adventure, have an absolutely wonderful trip to AZ. You shared your love of AZ with another of our board members. Go soak in all the desert you can.

Dear Annette...that's impossible! How do these things happen? In a couple of months...my little Brianna will be 4! Rocks on their heads, that's my solution.
