Hello Ladies, Yes, I am a happy camper! My last radiation treatment was this afternoon, and I am feeling very giddy. I didn't know how excited I would feel....I thought I might be a little sad leaving my "new Friends". There are a couple of gentlemen in their 80s that had treatment about the same time as me, that I will miss, and worry about. But they know I will be praying for their returned health. It is a bit strange that we are able to bond so with perfect strangers. Having this diagnosis in common is certainly a tie that binds.
My husband I will be meeting with the medical oncologist next Friday to discuss hormone treatment, and get started on that phase. I am opting for Arimidex, and hoping he concurs.
Thanks for all your support and pink feathers over the past few weeks...I watched for them at each session and knew you were all around me! Take care, Jean in WA
Jean! Congratulations!!!!!!! You have every right to feel "giddy". Yes, it is strange how this disease allows us to bond with people that we otherwise wouldn't have met. I still stay in touch with some of the people that I met during my rads. I hope that your onco agrees with your treatment hopes. You are almost finished!
Now, be sure and keep an close eye on your skin for the next few weeks. Remember, the rad continues to burn for a bit.

I am passing the RAD GRAD torch to you! Way to go! It's not easy to go in there everyday for those. But you hung in there and met the challenge! Be proud, be very, VERY proud! We're proud of you! And how wonderful of you to have made friends during this time. I had the regulars that I saw almost everyday. But they weren't very friendly, and I didn't want to push myself on them. Reading your post about keeping in touch with them made me feel a little sad that I won't know how those people are doing.
Let me know what you find out next week. I had an appointment with my onc. for Wed. but they called to reschedule and I forgot to call them back today.
Celebrate your graduation this long weekend. But remember to take good care of that skin. It's been over 2 weeks for me now since the last rads and my skin is peeling now. Not bad just itchy and dry. So use your aloe plant or prescribed ointment.

I started Arimidex last week. For me I have to take lupron shots to induce menopause, and so far things are about normal. I keep waiting for something (don't know exactly what), but I feel good to be taking something powerful to keep away the beast!
Glad to hear you are freed up from rad treatments and travel/downtime taking them! Congratulations again!
