Hi all
I had my first appointment with the radiologist yesterday she set up my schedule for radiation. I will be doing 6 1/2 weeks. I also have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday. She is concerned about my lymph nodes and a 5mm lump above my colarbone. She said they would be looking at my lumpectomy spot too.
I also saw my onc DR today and she did a breast exam and then sent me for blood tests. Other than that I won't see her for another 8 weeks. She wants to do another PET scan but will wait until after my rads.
I'm not looking forward to going to rads everyday but it will go by quickly. Im still achey from the Taxol but starting to get some energy back, the hardest part is getting up in the morning. I just can't seem to get enough sleep.

Hi Bernadette,
I wish you good results from your ultrasound. Please let us know what the docs say!!! Also, good luck with the radiation. It does sound like a long time, but you'll be finished before too long and you'll look back and think it did go by fast. Take care of your skin during all of this. Also, keep getting as much sleep as you can, since the radiation will also make you very tired too!

I remember being where you are. I am glad you're done with the Taxol. I had horrible aches with it. Look out for depression with that tired in the morning thing. I had it. It's also hard to do rads in the winter. Made the drive harder every day.
I did like to be off from work, though.
Congrats on making it through chemo! I'm praying for good results from the next set of treatments.

Thanks for the encouragement. I feel a little better each day but I wish the aches would go away. I had a store meeting at 6:30 yesterday morning and by the time I got off at 5:30 last night I thought I was going to drop from exhaustion. I commute an hour each way to work so I have to get up earlier that I would like to.
For my rads the hospital that I go to is about 15 minutes from my work so I will go there on my lunch. I worry about the rads making me anymore tired I can hardly manage without a nap as it is. I will make it just got to set my mind on it.

I hope everything comes out clean on your tests. Rad will go by quickly. I hope you like your rads team like I did. I didn't get the tiredness from it, so maybe you won't be any worse. I hope not. Just try to get more rest. I hope DH and your dog are doing better.

Thanks everyone for your replys.
I had my ultrasound this morning and they did not find anything to worry about in my neck but had concerns about my breast. They ordered copies of my old mamograms and I have one scheduled for Thursday (OUCH) I'm not looking forward to getting squished so soon after surgery. I feel like I'm back on the appointment whirlwind again. 2 last week and 4 this week.
On another note Hubby is doing much better, he got his rolleraid. I call it his scooter you put your knee on it and steer yourself around. He is so happy to have the crutches gone. He can get around so much better and is able to help some around the house now.
As for my dog, he is doing great, got his little casts off and has alot of scabby spots but is getting around almost like normal. He is still not wanting to play as much as he used to but he will. Im glad the casts are off it was a pain having to put baggies over his feet everytime he went outside. We have rain 24/7 here and we had to keep them dry.
