I am curious to know, of the Lexapro users on this board, has anyone had odd side effects? Like serious night sweats. I know that is sounds gross, BUT, I never had them until the 2nd month on 20mgs of Lex. I know it is a high dose but if you go back to my first post on this board you will see that I was a mess before taking it. Of course this side effect is not enough to make me stop- I just wondered if anyone else had trouble with it.

I was only on the 10mg & never had side effect from Lexepro. One of the few meds that I have been on that I never noticed a side effect.
I have been on 20 mg of lexapro for 2 yrs. It seems to work for me.
I was diagnosed with Degenerative disc disease 2 yrs ago. L4-L5 area the disc is completely gone, causing my verterbrae to rock and slam on my nerve root, when I walk.I am severly full of scar tissue.Bone spurs, curvature of the spine. you name it
everything will be okay in the end

I was wondering about the side effect too. I am 10mg and I get a taste like I am sucking on pennies, major headaches, blurred vision, and joint aches. Is this any of the normal effects?

Dolphin, Even if those ARE normal side effects .... there are so many drugs that might work better for you. The lexapro might help you depression but then how happy can you be with the side effects you listed above?
I was on Lexapro for awhile. Had cold chills AND sweats but no real major side effects besides these. Currently on Cymbalta. Has helped a lot and also seems to take the edge of my FMS. Haven't had the cold/sweats, either.
Wow I am amazed at the response to this. I used to sleep under 4 blankets and now I sleep on top with just a sheet covering me. I feel like I am in Menopause. I am lucky though because this is the only side effect I have.

I was on lexipro for a few months. It made me so tired I couldn't function. I also gained a bunch of weight and it made me feel emotionally numb. I couldn't take being tired all of the time so I went off of them.
