Hello everyone. I'm new here and need some help. My brother Everett has "advanced cirrhosis" and end stage renal failure. He goes to dialysis 3 times a week and it is miserable for him. He gets so cold the his shivers turn into almost convusions. On his blood work his ast is 141,alt 65, alk phos 217,creatinine 3.9, inr is 1.7, pt is 19.7,albumin is 1.8 and his bili total is 6.7. His stomach is huge....been drained 3 times. The last time they drained 4 gallons. I've noticed that some days he is really confused but I don't know where to find his amonia level. What would it be listed as on the lab report? Am I over looking it or do they not automatically test for that? What do his lab results look like to some of you? From what I've read...the outlook is not good. Do you see it that way too? He is 57 and has been a heavy drinker for years. He has now quit drinking...been almost 2 months since his last drink...when he was hospitalized. Any advice, input, support or prayers would be appreciated.
