Need Good Vibes - Chemo Change

Long story short, I am on my 4th recurrence, all localized. This one at the supraclavicle. Had 2 mri's this week to rule out mets to the brachia plexus because I had pain in the back of my neck and radiated out to the shoulder at times (on the cancer side). Didnt get the results, but am in pain today and gut feeling is that there is spread. I saw my surgeon and he emailed me today to say that he presented my case before the tumor board and they believe next chemo is doxil with possible radiation to problem area. I have a call in to my Dr's office because of the pain. My scheduled appointment is Dec. 2. I dont want to wait that long for my results (and my regular doctor will not be there) and I also cant take this pain in my neck. All good thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Oh Vicky, your post even sounds painful. I'm sorry you're having all this trouble and will be sending prayers your way for relief and answers. Good thing is that your surgeon seems on top of the situation. I do hope you get some relief before your scheduled appointment though; it's hard to concentrate on anything else when you are in that much pain.

Vicky: Big, gentle hugs to you. I am so sorry to hear about your latest diagnosis. darn this disease!!!!! If your dr doesn't call you back before long, go to the ER and get something for the pain. You shouldn't have to suffer just because it is a weekend. Please keep us informed.

I think that you are very smart in trying to get in to see your reg dr before 12-2. That is to long to wait. I'm like you .... I want to talk to MY own dr when there is a problem. It does sound as though your surgeon is on top of things and you have been given a plan of treatment. This is good. I hope that the radiation will help relieve some of the pain that you are having. You are a brave woman and a survivor in every sense of the word. Keep fighting!

My prayers are with you. I hope they can do something for the pain, and I hope your treatments take care of this new spread and are easy to take. You've been given too much, so I hope it stops soon! Keep up your great attitude - you definitely are an inspiration to me!

Hang in there Vicky....so sorry you are having these troubles. Hopefully you will get some relief soon and they can get these dang cancer cells under control...
