Neuro sending me for another EEG.........

Hi guys. If you read my last thread I talked about me thumb twitching for 4 days. I called the neuro on the 4th day. They called back today and said the Dr. wants me to have another EEG, just an in office one for a half hour and he wants me to up my meds right now. Now, I thought this was weird. She told me he wanted me to take double my dose in the morning and one dose at night (so 1000MG am and 500 MG pm) I was wondering why double up one dose instead of an even bump up to 750MG bid? Is this the way they usually increase peoples meds??

I thought is was strange. I would like to speak to the Neuro. I don't want to start taking more until the weekend. I will be zonked out for school doubling up. Thanks for any advise. Oh and ironically my thumb hardly twitched at all today ( I think it is tired

(((tracy))) Hoping the EEG can show what was going on. Glad the thumb is behaving itself a bit more, though!

Sometimes doctors will raise meds more during the day if seizures are suspected more in the wake hours. Sorry you could not tralk directly to the neuro to ask!!

THanks for all of the support guys. Ginny what you are saying makes alot of sense (about the wake hours). His assistant is always the one that I talk to. I only have spoken to him once on the phone. Friday is always test day for me. So I have two major tests on 4 units tomorrow. Ahh stress. Thanks MandiAnn and Jen and Ginny.

HI Guys!
I haven't started to increase my meds. To be honest I was going to try to take extra at night but only 250MG more. I don't know what to so. I am still having twitches everywhere, but nothing in a constant pattern like the thumb. I am always reluctant to take meds/or more meds....
The tests were stressful today. I have aton of homework to do plus two separate projects. Of the joys of nursing school. LOL Hope you all have a nice weekend. I am gonna tell you about my med increase tomorrow. Tracy
