i am new to this forum but my question is
(hope i posted in the right place)
i
have swollen nymph nodes on my neck, one behind my right ear wee one one on my neck one farther up the skull doc said they are not hard their soft rubbery movable feels nothing like cancer nodes but to watch for them to go down 4 weeks now
he says one is down normal size other 2 very close to normal size but i am still worried scare thinking what if hoping someone can help ease my mind a little my question is i got a call fr him tonight telling me all my reg blood work came back normal white cell count normal all good but come back in 2 weeks to check the size..
if my reg blood work all comes back normal white cell count normal but have swollen nymph nodes one small soft rubbery one behind my right ear
one higher in the head one on the neck ( going down he says)
if it is all blood work is 'normal ' can i still have cancer or is that a good sign i can rest at ease now? with all normal blood work done (reg blood work non special cancer ones)
white cell count all normal can it still be a chance of cancer or is this my good news??

This forum is for breast cancer....and while you are welcome to post here, we may not be the right place for you to get an answer about white blood counts. You may want to check a board for leukemia or other blood disorders, as those members may be more knowledgeable in this area.

Hi Luv! I'm sorry that you are so frightened right now. We all know that feeling. I think the fact that your white count is normal is a good thing. That shows that there isn't any infection, as far as I know. I agree w/ Lori that there is probably another board that would be able to help you more. The one thing that I would suggest very strongly is that you write down all of the questions and concerns that you have and then discuss them w/ your physician. Make him answer them for you. If you still don't feel comfortable w/ his answers, then make an appt w/ a specialist and ask the same questions. Make sure that you have all of your tests results to take w/ you if you go this route.

thank you both for ya reply i understand this maybe the worng forum for this type of question sorry just scared & not sure where ot look tye in the white cell count is normal so wouldn't be leukemia or other blood disorders but thank you anyways God Speed
Hi Luv, it is understandable that you feel scared right now. But, a lot of things can cause lymph nodes to swell. Here is a link to a Web MD site with information about the lymph system.
Your doctor is your best source of information about how to interpret your blood tests and other medical questions. I would say it is a good sign that the swelling of the nodes has decreased. Try not to be too worried. At least you are seeing your doctor and he/she is aware of what is going on. That is an important first step. Be well, Lauri
