Weill Cornell Medicine in NYC has issued this report in their News section of Website, July 7, 2026: "Key Gut Protein Balances Immune Protection and Tolerance". It discusses research being done by Dr. Randy Longman, an IBD gastroenterologist who is also a mucosal immunologist by training, and his postdoctoral research assistant, Dr. Wei Yang. Their hope is that the research findings will lead to improved treatment therapies for IBDers. I was especially interested to read this because Dr. Longman did part of his gastroenterology residencies under my longtime gastro's supervision. / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission pursuing periodontal problems)
