New to here

Hi Everyone.

I read with interest all these comments on Nexium.  I have just been diagnosed with GERD although I've had symptoms for many years.  It's not serious but uncomfortable.  All the tissue tests came back negative only with some minor swelling.  The scope was fine with just a little bit of acid burn.

However, I'm on Nexium and feeling many of the 'down' symptoms that people talk about.  Particualry worrying for me is the light headedness that I suffer which at times is what I call severe.  I just push through it but it's been particualry bad recently and I now realise that it's roughly since the time I've been taking high doses (40MG) of Nexium.

I'm an expatriate in Singapore.  The medical facilities here are great except the GERD seems to be far more of a problem back home than it does in most Asian cities so finding good Dr's can be a struggle.

Does anyone else suffer the light headedness feeling and have you found that Nexium has contriubuted to it.

Cheers
Hello,
I tried Nexium only once and it made my heart beat rapidly, so I stopped taking it. Have you considered Prevacid, Prilosec or Protonix? I've had good luck with all 3 of them and haven't noticed a whole lot of side effects. Even when I exercise and do weight training, I haven't noticed any light-headedness. It might be worth a try to switch for awhile and see if something else might work better for you.
Good luck!
