Now my husband is sick

My husband started having chills, fever and profuse diarrhea around 10 last night. His temp at 3AM was 102.1, and he was still having the big D this morning. I took a stool sample to the local lab here in Bolivia this morning. I have a strong feeling that he might have contracted the shigella that I was diagnosed with a week 1/2 ago? I have to add, and only you all will understand, that it makes me feel a little better that he's succumed to an intestinal infection finally! Now maybe I won't feel so alien with 4 infections under my belt in the past 9 months. I am also wondering if our Maid is cleaning our vegetables properly. Maybe this will make him want to leave Bolivia sooner!

Gosh... I'm sorry to hear that. I guess you are right, they don't know what we go through until they walk in our shoes. I of course feel bad when my hubby has D (the few times a year that he gets it) but he always makes a comment that he understands what I go through when he has and he always comments how could I not complain with it. I told him that he would have left me years ago because that would be all I did was complain to him. :) I hope that your hubby gets well soon. Are you feeling better?

I wouldn't wish D on anyone, HOWEVER it is almost gratifying when people get it and completely understand what we go through day in and day out. Your poor husband. I hope he is being treated. ???
