Well, it looks like I will be back on treatment starting today. My PSA in January was less than .1 in May, it was 1.0 June 1.8 and July 3 .27. I’m a little bummed out because my testosterone never made it above 40. Oh well, I have had 27 months without. Taking a pill and getting a needle so I don’t have a whole lot to complain about.
My doctor at Providence Cancer Center in Portland retired but prior to retiring he had stated he would like to do some imaging and maybe find something to biopsy because my slides are useless these days. I mean they are 20 years old but sounds like they’re just going to start me on treatment today instead.
Dude, you are a unicorn. You still have a prostate (I think). Fluctuations are the norm. I’d rather have you get some imaging. If you have 1 or 2 bone mets you could perhaps zap those instead of lupron juice. 27 months is a good ride ( I’m at 50) but I hope you can go more.

Definitely go for all the modern imaging such as PSMA-PET and mpMRI. Should be able get a good idea where you are and what treatments are possible. - Mumbo
Apparently, it all came down to insurance. Their attitude is that if it aint broke, don’t fix it. If this disease ever breaks through androgen, deprivation and secondary androgen blockade then Of course they would be willing to do all the modern imaging, but seeing how there is no reason to suspect the disease will act different when going back on therapy ithat is the solution. Oh well! It is fine. I got my jab and the pills will be here tomorrow. No worries!
