One more ailment to add to my list

Hi board,
My Doc. just found out through a barium swallow that among everything else that I have, I also have a "Mobile Hihadeous hernia". (spelling) For years I kept choking on all fluids, even water. I thought it was normal and I wasn't drinking properly.
If I'm sitting on the slightest angle I would choke unless I'm sitting straight up. It's very embarassing around other people or sitting in a restaraunt.

The Doc. suggested meds for it but I said I'd rather not b/c I'm already on enough crap already. Doc. said to "just be aware of it" when drinking anything.

Randy, Sorry that you have added this to your list! Hoping just being aware and cautious can help!

Hi Jen, there has been no change BUT during the barium swallow that I had, the technician noticed something really weird that he'd never picked up on this type of test before.

The test revealed major arthritis in my lower neck and across my shoulders. (the test was for a throat problem)

I've never had any pain in that area but sometimes I would get a burning feeling in my lower neck, I thought it was normal and from too much keyboarding.(poor posture)

My Doc. has suggested that I could take meds for pain(which I don't have (yet)) or see a massage therapist if I get lots of pain but for now it doesn't bother me so I'll leave it alone.

That's my update.

WOW Randy. YOu might find that heat therapy, moist like a microwave herbal pack or hot water bottle can relieve some pain as well. I do a lot of that and have been off arthritis meds since Vioxx was recalled last year. Swimming or hot tubs can also be very soothing to the joints.....

Hoping it does not start causing you a lot of trouble!
