Currently i have a HSA and have since being diagnosed. I kick out 2500 bucks at the beginning of the year and im set for the rest of the year as i hit that out of pocket max.
With UHC nothing makes sense. They have a HSA with a higher OOPM. How do i know if Humeria is covered once that is hit? All i know is that stuff is over 7 grand a month. Nobody can afford that.
I also know i have a colonoscopy in 2026 for a check up to see how things are looking. How i can tell if that is covered? If i remember correctly my current insurance covered some prorated amount of my last colonoscopy but it was still a couple grand out of pocket. Kind of a scam if they say the process is 15k and i have a pay 2k of it. It was likely only 2k to begin with
I know UHC doesnt have a great track record for anything really. I just want to make sure i am signing up for the right thing.
The other option they have is something called "Surest" where there is no deductible but a higher out of pocket max per year. No clue what covers or what it doesnt. They only give you about a week to figure this all out but to also do your job so its not like you take any time to research anything or spend hours on the phone trying to get some one to answer questions.
I will say im damn lucky. I have been in remission for many years with no issues and hope to stay that way.
Does anyone have any experience with either the UHC HSA plan or the Surest plan?
