Hi all, I have had acid reflux since I was 14 and am now 42. I had the operation in 2000 and it only lasted a year before symptoms returned. I've had heartburn almost everynight for last 4 years and now have pain in middle of my chest when swallowing. I was told today it could be cancer since I've had acid reflux for so long. They can't do a scope until they figure out what is wrong with my heart. I had a stent put in January 4th this year and am now having problems with breathing and chest arm pain. They said now gastroenterologist would touch me until that was resolved. Has any one else out there had pain swallowing and if so what caused yours? Barb
I've been to chiropractors and it did nothing for my stomach and the insurance I have now does not pay for that any way. I have to scrape money together the way it is for copays on meds and treatments. The heart disease is my newest problem. I was getting massages once a month because I have fibromyalgia and a deteriorated disk but can no longer afford that. I would rather go with alternative stuff like chiropractors and massage but insurance doesn't pay for that. Any other suggestions? Barb
