I can tell how frustrated you are, and feel so badly for you. Perhaps ask about the bracelets for nausea? I am not sure the details, but they use them for motion sickness and I think Chris used them to help her with chemo. You might also consider a 2nd opinion after you get your test results back from the CT.
If only we could get you feeling better for a couple days, I think you would have a renewed boost of morale and will to fight. I hope it comes to you soon.
L&H,
Lori
I'm so sorry you're still going through this. It really sucks big-time. I'm praying that they can do something for you to alleviate the nausea. Hang in there, girl. I'm praying for you.

Rita
Being nauseated is HORRIBLE....The only thing that helped me was Zofran. But 1 time I did have to use the suppositories because I
couldnt keep anything down. They did help.
I pray that you will feel better soon and that the test result will be
okay..I am sorry your husband isnt being more understanding....
I agree with Lori, I think a huge kick in the butt is in order !!!

Oh God Carla- where to begin!
Do you think your DH would have lunch with me and Lori? I think we can get his attitude adjusted. You know ME and how I get that is why I think Lori should come- she could be the voice of reason and keep the police away, etc....but I think he might grab a glove and get in the game after we are done!
Now here is some medical advice from someone who is NOT a doctor and is just making a few suggestions so you can ask your own REAL doc's opinion!
I heard there is a new anti-nausea med that is an injection called Aloxi. My friend Kathy had it and it REALLY helped her. She had some heavy duty chemo for mets to her pancreas, liver and esophogus. So you might ask about that.
As far as the endo- you have had upper GI problems for a while now. I wouldn't be surprised if they found major irritation there. Maybe once they do find the cause they can actually TREAT you! Are they going to check for H.Pylori virus too? That causes most ulcers and they have a specific treatment for that.
I don't know if you remember, but I have had a problem since chemo with something called meunier's disease and it causes severe vertigo and/or severe nausea. I got it from the chemo. The only thing that helped was lowering my sodium intake and taking something called Diamox. It is a (sp?) vasodiolator that works in the brain to help relieve pressure on the nerve that causes vertigo and Nausea - vas vagle- or something like that. It is also a diuretic and it clears up too much water retention even in the skull which can cause the pressure which can then cause the nausea. It has no side effects and it worked wonders. I still take it. I have to.
So maybe you can approach your doc and ask him about the Aloxi for nausea, the H. Pylori as a cause for your GI pain and other symptoms, and perhaps taking Diamox short term to relieve the pressure.
PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP.
I know you Carla. You are in a bad place right now and you have EVERY RIGHT TO BE! But you are the comeback kid if there ever was one!!!
And the spot on your brain is solitary and small and CAN AND WILL BE ZAPPED.
If ANYONE thinks or says you are "faking it" then perhaps Jo-Ann and I need to have lunch with THEM!
HANG ON. You were given a boatload of bad news and you feel like crap. BUT there ARE things that can make you feel better and you will get them. And you WILL feel better again. YOU WILL.
And hell yeah! GET that second opinion!!!
I have had to kick butts far too often in my life and then we get sick from the stress. That's what I attribute mine too. Men and teaching school. One year my counselor said my ex had so many expectations for me and none for himself. I have found that that is far from unusual. I don't have the answer but it sounds like you do everything which is what I did. I hope you will just get some rest and he may have to kick in and help if you aren't. I don't know. I wish I could help. I feel so bad for you. At least I wasn't sick when I was going through everything.
I will pray for you. Love, Di
One day, when I acutally did 'get it', my teacher interrupted the discussion to ask me specifically if I understood. I was mortified. She then asked if I knew why she called on me, and of course I said "no". She told us that the reason was because "chances are, if Lori did not understand, several others did not understand too, and Lori was the only one who would ask questions."
Speaking my mind is not a problem, so don't necessarily count on me to be the voice of reason!
L&H,
Lori
TOO Funny Lori!
I of all people know you how you can speak your mind!
But you ARE a diplomat...I have great faith that you could keep the police away!
At least I hope so- or we are both going to need bail money!
