spots on spine showed on MRI again, but they were unchanged, so "pork chop bone" remains the diagnosis. Happy dancin', happy dancin'. Scoliosis in thoracic spine is progressing, but no need to do anything yet. Hopefully I can keep it from getting worse by spending lots of time of that darned therapy ball that I have developed a love/hate relationship with over the last few months. (I swear, that ball is a man...the darned thing keeps dumping me, and I just keep going back to it!) Neuro is releasing me til I think I need to go back. I haven't heard that from a doctor in awhile!
Woo Hoo, Bev! Good news is always welcome!! I had just read an e-mail from my youngest sister that her mammo had good results, then came on the board to read this from my SIL. I am thanking God tonight.
Pork chops bones are good. What do you do with the ball? Since you said it keeps dumping you, I am assuming you are riding it? And how does that help your back? Just curious and puzzled. Hugs MK
You know, Bevie, I don't eat pork, but this dx sure sounds delicious. Keep up the work on the therapy ball. I see people in the gym using those things all of the time. Hugging you, Luci

Bev, love those pork chop bones. Did you ever hear my rant about physical therapy? I would go in and the minute I started having a good time and making jokes I swear they put me on that ball. I hated that thing so much, and when they would send me to it I would start.... Oh no not the dreaded timeout ball. People in the whole building could hear me yelling Oh no I will be good I will do anything just don't make me sit and try and hatch the dreaded time out ball. That is almost as much fun as watching paint dry. Think my mouth got me out of there in record time? LOL Best of luck and let us know how you are doing. Hugs Joyce
How wonderful it would be to see Angels where there are only clouds. How sad it would be to see clouds where there are Angels.
Wow Bev, I'll join that happy dancing chorus line. Great news with the pork chop bone diagnosis. We'll take that anytime. I've been going through my "allergic to the change of season time" so missed your 11th anniversary, but now I'm feeling almost human and wanted to send belated congratulations. We love good news, keep it coming.
Love and Hugs, Libby
Friends are God's way of taking really good care of us.
MK, I had to laugh at your "ball" question. Yes, you sit on the ball, or lay on it, or something in-between sometimes. It is a large therapy ball, and it is extremely helpful in building "core stability," of which I had none, largely because of the TRAM surgery. The PT explained it this way: The doctors tell you that your obliques will kick in and "take over" for your rectus muscles. Instead, the obliques begin shutting down as well, and then the back muscles, and then you're in a heck of a shape.
I was so weak, I had to start with what I called "remedial" exercises on the floor...couldn't do hardly anything.
Joyce, I must tell you that the ball has actually become my friend. I've even mastered the "clam shell," how about that?!
Becky... great news about your sister. I'm so happy for you AND her!
Luci... we could maybe be more politically correct and call them "chicken bones," what do you think? I think JoAnnie would get a big hoot out of that.
And to all my other friends here...thanks for the good thoughts.
Thanks for the explanation. I think it would be fun for me to try since I have no rectus nor oblique muscles, they were all cut out. My ball could just be my belly hernia. I am so sick and tired of it, in January it will be six years. Have fun. Hugs MK
Hey Bev, Yes, I think Joannie would really think chicken bones as being politically correct was a hoot. Yeah for no changes on your MRI.
I had a scare last week>>had coronary calcium scan, shows calcium in coronary arteries,( which was negative, yeah!). Anyway, the scan showed a patchy infiltrate in lung. So, of course we panicked. Chest ct showed scarring, probably from radiation. Breast cancer, the gift that keeps on giving!
When I found this board I wrote you a long email, but address with HealingWell didn't work. Hate when that happens. Sounds like you have been having some "challenges". My husband retired almost 2 years ago and we moved to Lincoln to be near grandbabies. DH is building a log home for us on a piece of pasture we bought. Hope to move in March or April. We are going to Arizona for January in motorhome. Will be first time trying to be a snowbird. Warmth will be nice, but I will miss the grandbabies. We are going to be grandparents again in June. Can's wait!
Sounds like both of have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Got to get ready to watch the Huskers get badly beat by the Buffaloes of Colorado.
Huge hugs coming your way, Bev. And, I know about the ball. I have three ex's that I am very good friends with. I have a hard time walking away. There was an episode on Sex in the City about that last night. I think I will ask my OT about a ball when I see her on Tuesday. I have no muscles to work with and can't bend but my middle needs improvement. I am back at Curves though six days a week. Lots of happy hugs and love to you. Di
Bevie, "chicken bones" vs "pork chop bones"????/ Hmmm, chicken bones don't seem quite as brave as pork chop bones. Let's stick with them. Besides pork chop bone has so much significance for so many of us. Hugs, my friend. Luci
