realize. Your words are the greatest power you have. The words you
choose and the use establish the life you experience. - Sonia Croquette
"It's your fault for running, holding diamonds," I said
And I offer no sympathy for that
I hear that it was you who died alone
And I offer no sympathy for that
Better off I sparkle on my own
And someday love will find me in the rough
Someday love will finally be enough
I turned around 3 times and wound up at your door
Now you say you know all you did not know before
And I offer no sympathy for that
I hear that it was you who died alone
And I offer no sympathy for that
Better off I sparkle on my own
And someday love will find me in the rough
Someday love will finally be enough
I got your love letters
I threw them all away
And I hear you think that I'm crazy
I'm driving 95
And I'm driving you away
And I shine a little more lately
Someday love will find me in the rough
Someday love will finally be enough
Someday love will find me in the rough
Someday love will finally be enough
I shine a little more lately
We are all alive alone.
Neither friend nor lover
Child nor mother
Can light our way for very long.
Out of loneliness
Arises the self we never knew.
Out of fear
Comes the wisdom of our ancestors.
Out of impatience
Grows the persistence of old age.
These shadows of our memory
Create new pathways to the soul
So that in being alive alone
We become alive together. Poem by: Nancy Wood
Brownleaf,
What a wonderful poem, and right when I need it. Thank you.
Some people realize we are really alone and they 'get it' early in life. Others, like me, 'got it' once, then lost it and have to find it again in middle age when the son has left the nest, the parents are deceased, the rest of the relatives are distant.
Discovering and re-discovering your self. It isn't a bad or a hard thing to do, once you can accept that we are alone and get past that. That is where I seem to be stuck, but working on it.But this is a positive board and I want to contribute:
typed words they are that meet my eyes
to travel toward my heart;
they push right through the tears and fears
and reach where i'm falling apart.
typed words they are that reach my heart
gentle and caring and warm
they wrap me up in comfort
and hold me through the storm.
By me. This is how I feel so often when I come here looking for something to ease my mind, remind me that there are beautiful things in the world even when they are hidden from me at the moment. Many of those beautiful 'things' are the posters here and the words they write. Thanks to all.
Nanse
brownleaf ~ that was a great poem...have ya been hiding out the last few days? Haven't seen much of you around...
Nanse ~ you are quite talented, thank you for sharing your poem and posting it on our positive thread. Help us keep it going...
As for me I have been kinda moody lately. I wouldn't necessarily say depressed but just....."quite" if that makes any sense...
Nanse, you know i use to think the internet was a cold media, "how could you feel anything of others in this Method of communication", now, i think quite differently, in fact i think it is clearer and less clouded by expectations and perceptions, it's not perfect, and nor am i, but i have learnt so much about myself here, perhaps becoming more of who i forgot i was,
And Elisha, having a quiet spell, my body is doing strange things at the moment, well not that strange, but i feel like i have had a scrubbing brush travel over my nervous system, which again is nothing new, but it feels like new because i haven't felt it this bad for a while, maybe i'll get someone to walk on my back tomorrow, always helps a little.
I have lots of new stories to add, and a couple of long ones for anyone who cant sleep,
Have a good weekend everyone
els, thank you for your kind words.
brownleaf, I wondered about communicating on the 'net too, because words can be taken out of context or in ways not intended. But, I am hard of hearing and this method of communicating is very special to me because I can "hear" every word!
I am cleaning today---yuk!... BUT it is because next Saturday my sister is coming to visit and I haven't seen her in a year. AND her daughter and grandson are coming too and I haven't seen them in almost 3 years! So, it is happy cleaning! Turn-the-music-on-and-get-moving cleaning!
It is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.
Brownleaf ~ Another great one...thank you. I think it was just what I needed today. I didn't even realize until last night when I looked at my wall calender that Monday is May 1st...the day I was married. Perhaps this is the reason for my moodiness the last few days. I can relate to the strange feelings going on in the body. With my MS I have felt like I am buzzing or vibrating from the inside out it is really quite weird. My doctor has changed meds and shifted things without any luck in making it go away. I hope this isn't going to be long term...anyway me with my book that I have wrote here ;)
It has finally stopped raining here for the first time in 4 days...I may take the dog for a walk and see if I can come up with something positive to post...Have a wonderful day...XXX

Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
Move on When things seem to perfect, C. Hottran
There’s always something wrong,
Move on, get over it,
And you’ll grow strong.
People will always,
Be putting barriers in your way,
Don’t let them pull you down,
Ignore them as you keep going your way.
If you’ve lost once, don’t give up,
But do accept the fall,
Then rise again,
Cause you might defeat them all.
"What is the Way?"
"What a fine mountain this is," the master said in reply.
"I am not asking you about the mountain, but about the Way."
"So long as you cannot go beyond the mountain, my son, you cannot
reach the Way," replied the master.

THE MASTER Kosen drew the words "The First Principle" which are
carved over the gate of the Oaku Temple in Kyoto. He drew them
with his brush on a sheet of paper later they were carved in wood.
A pupil of the master had mixed the ink for him, and stood by,
watching the master's calligraphy. This pupil said, "Not so good!"
Kosen tried again. The pupil said: "That's worse than the first
one!" and Kosen tried again.
After the sixty-fourth try, the ink was running low, and the pupil
went out to mix some more. Left alone, undistracted by any
critical eye watching him, Kosen made one more quick drawing with
the last of the ink. When the pupil returned, he took a good look
at this latest effort.
"A masterpiece!" he said.

Things that remember themselves are not forgotten, but rise on wings of experience and paint our minds with visions of our ancestors
Things that remember themselves are pictures without form and words without a tongue. They give meaning to what we thought we had forgotten in our youth.
Things that remember themselves give light to the uncertain paths we used to take, bringing beauty to the house of our ripening old age.
"Poem by: Nancy Wood"
the most as you'll ever go
Is back where you used to know
If grown-ups could laugh this slow
Where as you watch the hour snow
Years may go by
So hold on to your special friend
Here, you'll need something to keep her in :
'Now you stay inside this foolish grin ... '
Though any day your secrets end
Then again
Years may go by
You saved your own special friend
'Cuz here you need something to hide her in
And you stay inside that foolish grin
When everyday now secrets end
Oh and then again
Years may go by
Please forgive me, I have been in a mood lately cant really explain it. This poem isn't exactly positive but it makes me feel better and I have always liked Jason Paul Fox's work...
Life Without Her
I cringe to think of it;
laughable imperfections
surging into seas
of hypocrises, of
thing to do to reason,
the reason to do things
to show for show
gone-
and the long longing
for the convoluted volition of love
for she that drinks the seas
sees, drinks, or seasons the surging show,
and perfectly laughs.
The best are like water.
Water benefits all things and does not compete with them.
It flows to the lowest level that people disdain.
In this it comes near to the Way.
In their dwellings, they love the earth.
In their hearts, they love what is profound.
In their friendship, they love humanity.
In their words, they love sincerity.
In government, they love peace.
In business, they love ability.
In their actions, they love timeliness.
It is because they do not compete
that there is no resentment.
