Many states and cities have medical assistance programs for low income people especially women and the elderly..My ex-wife (That`s right I said wife) lives down in Fairfax Virginia and because she is over 50 and low income she got a medical assistance card and pays like $2 for a doctor visit at the clinic..Had a bone density scan and got a perscription for cholesterol..Had blood screening and a pap test all for like $2 each item..When I went to Vietnam I had to have blood tests for AIDS and Syphilis and went to the Baltimore City Health Dept and got them both for $20

A great link and sara is right I am also on a low income clinic card $10-$20 for ER visits and a few dollars for my named brand medicines $5 and $2 for generic but it helps since my husband is on SSDI it helps a litle bit. I am just thankful they are out their for us to use when we ned it. for a few years I was on AVmed but not now .
