I just had my PSA tested for an upcoming Urology follow-up appointment. Over the past year, my six month PSA numbers has gone from 0.17 on 2/19/2025, to 0.18 on 9/8/25, 0.18 on 3/2/26 and 0.32 on 8/25/26. I have a Urology follow-up appointment on 9/22. Any specific questions should I ask the Urologist?
I’m not sure if my back ground information came with me when the HW format changed, so here’s a quick summary: Diagnosed G9 in November 2021; Started 21 months of Lupron in March of 2022; June 15 I started 44 sessions of EBRT, which ended on 8/16/22.

As to your question, good chance your urologist will suggest getting another PSA soon or on your schedule since radiation was your primary treatment and a variable PSA is not uncommon. Your Uro could also get excited as 0.32 is not a good sign after surgery but means little after RT.
I might suggest that you see your radiation oncologist and see what he/she says. There will be a point where a PSMA-PET scan would be a good idea but you need more than one PSA and maybe a higher value to “see” anything. Keep in mind that you are a long ways from “failure” per RT criteria (2+lowest PSA)
Thank you c. I have an appointment with my urologist on 9/22. My RT retired since I completed my radiation treatments. But, there are several other RT at Cancer Center and I met with all of them at some point in my treatments.
This thing with our doctors retiring is a big pain. I always preferred older doctors since I figured they would understand me better. Did not figure that we all would be retiring around the same time and seeing younger doctors who have only read about prostate issues, not experienced them.
