Hey all, I think I've developed a few new spots on my body and one of them is right above my eye - that area right between where the eyelid ends and the brow bone begins. It started about a month ago and I thought I'd wait and see if it was just dry skin - but it's persistant and starting to get a little bigger and I've realized I have to stop kidding myself and it is definitely psorisis.
The other areas, I know how to treat (though it seems now once I get a new site, they never completely go away) - but what do you put on such a sensitive area such as your eye????? I certainly can't put the clobesol (sp?) there, and I'm not even sure putting cream or lotion is safe is it?
Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks.
Oh, and in case you don't remember - I have PA, RA (though I still suspect lupus) and am taking Plaquinil.

Hey CaMama, with that area of your body, you are right to be cautious. Those creams can liquify and get into your eye, and that may not be safe. Have you talked to your dermatologist? Are you going to be able to start the Enbrel? That will probably clear it up too... {{{{{[[[[[(((((HUGS)))))]]]]]}}}}} let us know how you are doing... Duck

Thanks Ducky, I think I will call the dermatolgoist on Monday. Of course, they probably want me in and then I have to go through the referral hassle and wait another month or two to be seen to hear a 3 word suggestion. I hadn't though of calling him (vs. PCP, rhuemy - who I doubted could help) for some reason.
I don't know about the Enbrel...I have yet to go the 2 months between rhuemy appointments w/o getting really sick. So, for now it is on hold.
Aren't you taking Plaquenil as well or was that Oreo?

Your dermatologist may be able to just prescribe something over the phone with you, not like you don't know what psoriasis plaques look like, ya' know? So maybe, he'll say, you can take this medication and call it in for you... a woman can dream huh? :) No I'm not on Plaquenil... I'm only on Enbrel... (so far)... good luck and let us know what the doc says! Duck

Because of the stubbornness of mine, I do use the clobetasol in that area. I have it in my eyebrows and occasionally I will get a tiny spot dead center on my L eyelid. But the clobetasol version I use is the gel and I barely touch the gel with a qtip to apply to the lid very very very carefully. Usually with doing this 2-3 days it will be enough to send that area into a remission of sorts and I don't have to deal with it again for about 2-3 more months.
