I just have some questions, any info would help. I have had UCfor 4 years and in the future I am thinking of Jpouch surgery. I am a 31 year old male. I am talking about 6 months after surgery.Would I be able to jog everyday and skip rope,...also play Racquetball? Would I be able to do situps and have abs?(that could be a dumb question) Does it have a diformed look to the physique? Would I be able to go back to drinking coffee? I am also a boxer so I take it that I would not want to be hit in the body without a colon. I look foward to some replies ,......Thanks a million.
Hey DePiro,
I myself was going to have a j-pouch. What happened to me was they made an insision just below the breast bone to just below the waist line. So, I have a large scar.Is it deformed, well lets say it adds to a talking point of who has the largest scar conversation.I can live with a scar that's for sure.
As for getting back into shape after surgery, start with baby steps and work your way up.As for boxing, well that's up to you & your doctors.
Have a look at some of the archive sites on this page. Every question you have to ask, will most likely have been asked by someone else. There are also a couple of people who have they own web sites, with regard to procudures & their recoverys.
As for coffee, man I drink to much now that I have an Ileostomy.
Good Luck,
Johnny
