Hi Ladies. Just posting quickly to let you know that I am on week 3 of weekly taxol. So far, so good. Side effects have been minimal. Have ordered my wig. Received a box from Heavenly Hats. If you know of anyone going through chemo, just make a request at heavenly hats and they will send out a box of hats. While at the dr. I asked him to check me because Ifelt like the collar bone area was not as swollen. I thought it was just wishful thinking. Doc. confirmed that the node had shrunk by 60%. I was very happy this weekend. Next is a bone scan to make sure nothing in bones and then we will scan the end of the summer.

Vicky: What wonderful news! Fantastic that the node has shrunk 60%!!!! Makes all of the treatments worthwhile, doesn't it?! Glad that the side effects from the taxol are minimal. Good luck with the scans!

I have never heard of the box full of hats. It sounds like a great idea. Tell us more about the hats and where they come from. I have seen patterns for hats to knit for cancer patients and wondered what people do with them. Is this the kind of hat you are getting? I am so happy to hear about the shrinkage, too. The heavenly hats were awesome. It was started by a young boy who wanted to do some good. Someone asked that I receive a hat when we found out I would lose my hair again. We requested a bucket hat. The box came with 6, some terrycloth, some lightweight, all colors. ALl the hats are new and donated. You can be a Hat Angel and donate to them. Here is the website:
