Does it cost to have reconstructive surgery or is covered by insurance? My mom may need it in the future.
Thanks,
Christina
Hi Christina. Under the Woman's Cancer Act of 1998, insurance companies are required to pay for mastectomy and reconstruction, to include surgery on the other breast to make it symmetrical to the breast that had mastectomy and recon. Your mom may have to pay a copay, but it just depends on the insurance. Sending good thoughts your way. Best wishes to your mom.

Breast cancer has become an epidemic. After all of the these years and billions of dollars donated for research...WHERE IS THE CURE???

Christina:
Ditto Cindy. I have had everything covered under my insurance except for hospital co-pay.
It is good of you to help your mother.
