Remember the 17 year old with bc...

Some of you wanted me to let you know when she is on Dr Phil. She is on Dec 7th, 3:00pm pacific time. I don't know if that works for other areas or not. Just wanted to let you know.
Hope everyone is feeling good and staying warm! L&H, Gail

I think this is the young lady from Wilton, North Dakota isn't it?  I've read a lot of stories on her in the local papers.  Heard she was going to be on Dr Phil in December.  Hope I get to see it.

Thanks for sharing the date.  My son knows this girl because he used to coach girls basketball at a neighboring town.  He said it was amazing how she kept going through it all.

Kitty, no this is a girl from a town near me, Yakima, WA. It is sad to think there are more than one, but I know that is a reality. Hope you are doing well! L&H, Gail

Thanks, Gail. I'll be watching. Yes, it is sad to think that there is more than one. But it could be like the rape and abuse statistics I keep hearing about: For every one that goes public, there are ten out there that nobody will ever hear from. I'm so glad that Dr. Phil is bringing this to light.

Love,
Rita

I know the girl from ND was on some public TV news type show, because there was an article about it in the paper here, but now that I think about it it was Good Morning America and it was back in October I think.

This one they kept telling her she was "too young" for breast cancer, and when she herself (with her families help) kept pushing the Dr's to do more testing they found it a very rare form.

Always something isn't it?

Kitty

Gail,

I watched the show today.  What a beautiful young woman she is!  So sad that someone that young had to face this dreaded disease.

Was so happy for her though, Dr. Phil ended up giving her a trip to Greece as soon as she turns 18, and she can take a friend.  She seemed thrilled at the thought of a wonderful vacation like that.

God Bless her, what a precious girl.

Debbie
PS> Thanks for letting us know about this show. (Wes and I usually do watch Dr. Phil, he is on at 5:00 pm here)

I watched the show, too. Thanks, Gail, for letting us know. What a wonderful girl she is! And her mom seemed great, too. Hope some of these doctors see the show and realize that there really is no such thing as "too young for breast cancer." If you've got breasts, you're a candidate.

L&H,
Rita

I hope I can catch this one on a rerun. Jo-Ann and I were on the road. I used to watch Dr Phil all the time but then the reruns started and I sort of dropped off. I get an email weekly telling me the subjects so I can pick and choose. Some of these people on shows like this are so selfish and ugly, aren't they? But I really enjoy the informative shows like I am sure this one was. Hugs MK
