HI all,
With my GERD and IBS, I always wondered if something is wrong with my buffering system. You know....the stuff your body is supposed to put out to buffer acids. Have any of you ever heard of any theories out there that have to do with our buffering systems being defective? I wonder why they've never tested our saliva. Any ideas?
Hi Cathy,
I'm a newbie and think that this is an interesting point you bring up. In the same vein, I am also wondering if not chewing my food long enough is one of things that contributed to me getting it. Digestion starts in the mouth. Everyone eats so quickly these days.
