I think I read that you said you got it straightened out....what did they say? Hope it is as good as can be....

Thank you for asking~~~I got the final results of my path report yesterday at my second chemo appt. St Joes did have the correct results-grade III, invasive ductal,er-pr highly positive,her2+++.The nurse was telling me its now good to be her2 because of the herceptin, but I don't really know.Im definately glad to be a canidate for the Tomoxifen.My onc was out of town so I don't know how this will effect the rest of my AC tx.I didn't know herceptin is given through the vein.So, now they want me to get a port( which I'm afraid of).
Just knowing the pathology reports have been rechecked has really made me a lot more comfortable.

Hi Michelle! I'm glad that you got your path report straightened out. Herceptin is given IV. It doesn't take very long. Minimal side effects. I don't know who invented the port but God bless him/her. It makes treatments and blood draws soooo much easier. It is a simple procedure and one that I don't think you will regret having done. The chemo does a job on your veins and after awhile, it will be difficult to do blood draws, etc. I even forget that I have mine.

Michelle, mine was exactly the same....grade III, invasive ductal, strongly ER/PR+, but I forgot if I was her2 ++ or +++. Dr. Wicha had told me then that it was considered "borderline" and not really positive, and that even if I had been stage IV, that I may not have been able to take it. Glad to hear you will benefit from it. It is like a double edged sword...the good news is that you have a great arsenal with herceptin and Tamoxifen. I also had AC, no T (negative nodes).
Ports are a whole 'nother issue. I did not have one for my 4 AC, but others who had one were very happy that they did.
