I had my first infusion yesterday. Went ok. Am a little leery about starting a new medicine. Been med free since late march and haven't felt any difference. Although my stretch GI Dr thinks it should help at my stricture. I've done 8 stretches so far this time and got to 19mm last week. I guess ill just have to wait and see.
I hope it works for you Randy! I started it back in March and just did my first on body injector round.
How's that work . it was briefly explained to me but have not seen one.

Hey sabrina, welcome. Its been a week since my infusion. However after my stricture stretch yesterday (#9) dr said the inflammation already looked better. I can see in the pictures there are many fewer granulation areas. 😁

Had my 2nd loading dose of skyrizi yesterday.😁 so far so good!. Will have stretch number 12 next tuesday😋 got up to 20mm last 2 times. Yay!

Stretch #13 done. 😁 Dr said inflammation was moderate after 2nd skyrizi a week ago. Onward we go.

Third infusion last week. Now to start the auto inject belly thing. Thought The training would be in person, but I guess its gonna be over the phone.
Had my 14th or 15 stricture stretch also. Lost count😋 I could look it up but I'm too lazy😂 going out to 3 week between and see how it goes. The pics when I started were like white bubbled up bad sunburn and this last time it was almost smooth looking. And pink ,so it looks like the riz is working.
Will update after labor day when I do the next stretch😇

Also had my "training" for the skyrizi. Sounds like a pain in the ass. They don't want me to use my belly at all because of the 13 scars and some stretch marks. Then she said if I try it to stay away from belly button. I reminded her I don't have one!😋

So I did my at home skyrizi and it was easy but it was a steady slight pain the entire time it was injecting. Not ow ow pain , but it was uncomfortable. Any body else have that if you use it?
Sorry that I can’t offer constructive feedback but I am following this closely because I just started the induction phase of Skyrizi and will be due for the first self injection in December. Frankly I am a little freaked out about the process now that I have gotten comfortable with the infusions after two years of Entyvio and remicade. Did you do the injection into your belly? I talked to a nurse at my GI office who has Crohn’s and had just done her first self injection of Skyrizi. She injected into her thigh and said there was a little bruising at the site but she didn’t say anything about pain or discomfort. Good luck!!

Hey curtis, yes I did it on my belly. No bruising. I did 2 humira a week for over 10 years so I know what painful injections are😋.
This was just different. I felt the needle go in slowly then the injection started. I suspect its the ingredient used as a preservative . A type of acid. Humira used citric acid..🤔 this uses glacial acetic acid.
I'm sensitive to preservatives.

That makes sense. Actually now that you mention it, I had forgotten about it but three weeks ago when I got the first Skyrizi infusion, it seemed like I felt it going into and starting through the vein in a way that I had never experienced with remicade. I thought it was because the flow rate is faster with the Skyrizi, but maybe it was the preservative. It felt sort of uncomfortable, not bad, but noticeable.
I'm in awe of anyone that has had to give themselves any type of shot.....or anything with a needle. Just the thought makes me want to hide in the corner of a dark closet. You all are warriors!!

I tried Skyrizi for the first time a couple of Friday's ago and had an immediate reaction. I know I'm allergic to most preservatives so now I’m wondering if that might have been the case here. After getting clearance at the ER (stroke level BP changes), all settled down fairly quickly. Fast Forward three days and I ended up back in the ER with severe gastroparesis, vomiting without expelling anything (due to a Nissan) and severe bloating. I was transferred to another hospital by ambulance and had NG tube for several days, with little consensus on exactly why the Crohn's flare was so bad and the inflammation was so horrible. Is it possible the Skyrizi (and/or preservatives it contains) could have sparked this? I always avoid any and all additives and preservatives, if possible.
