Hi everyone i have lupus so i am normaly on that site, but i have just come back from seeing my nero for the results of my mri on my spine he says my spine is crumbling and i have to see a spine specialist in january. has anyone got any info on what he is talking about. thanks carolferxx
"Crumbling"? No other explanation but "crumbling"? The only thing I can think he might be meaning is that the MRI showed degeneration of the discs? Or osteoporosis? HAve you either of these?
A spine specialist is a great idea...especially for a consult. It will probably be a surgeon, a neurosurgeon. If you seek one, you can always get more than one opinion. Some docs get a little "scalpel happy" and are quick to rush you into sugery. So yes, a spine specialist is needed, but be sure that you trust him/her and feel comfortable. There are hospitals around the nation dedicated to spine surgeries and spinal health...might be worth looking into.
