BP brings new meaning to Life's Little Ups and Downs
My daughter did the same thing to me, (at a much younger age), countless times. I think when you worry constantly about them, you finally hit the "numb point". I remember one night wondering where my daughter, car (and of course the last pack of diapers for her little brother that was in the trunk) had gotten off to this time and if she was okay or hurt or drunk or even in jail. All had occured at one time or another. I had spent countless nights pacing the floors crying and praying that she'd be okay and that she wouldn't do something that couldn't be undone. That night was different though. I finally realized she was nearly grown. The police said they would do nothing due to her age and it was just out of my hands. I slept that night with her out doing whatever it was and she eventually crept home. She never got my car keys again. And while I still worried about her, still do, I never got to the frantic point again. I think we can all burn out with worry. A person can only take so much.
I'm betting he'll be okay and will come home when he's ready. How long has he been gone? My oldest stole my car for 3 days once. Only car we had. Really stunk.
Hope everything works out okay Sandra. You and your son will be in my prayers. Take care.

He's only been gone overnight Ellie, it's just that he was doing so much better!!!! He said he'd only be gone for 5 hours and he didn't have any money with him. You are right though, he's grown, and has the right to make his own mistakes, I just wish it wasn't so darned hard on me. He's my baby!!!

BP brings new meaning to Life's Little Ups and Downs
They're always our babies. Mine is 23 now and I still worry. Sometimes I wonder how she survived her teenage years. She's been diagnosed BP as well and self medicates with alcohol. She won't see a doc, (gee, I wonder where she got that) and just muddles though. You can't make them better no matter how hard you try. I pray alot. It's all I can do sometimes.
It would also be nice if they'd make their mistakes without our vehicles. I actually had to take the battery out of my car once because I was sure she had my extra keys. Of course she just left with a friend anyway.
I have two grown and four still at home. I hope none of the others torture me the way the oldest did. God, those were some awful days. I really feel for you Sandra.
Hope he's home soon so you can relax.
God Bless
