I had the tb test and the doctor was very gentle. It did not hurt at all. Now I have to go back and have him check it and sign the form. I asked him what I should watch for. He said it should not look injurious. Not sure what that means. Anyway it is purpe and black. I am wondering if that is just because I am diabetec and bruise easily?
Judy, You are on a roll now, so keep up the good work! Continue to take charge and get tough. Maybe the bathroom needs painting or the husband needs a little attitude adjustment If the Mrs. doesn't keep me in line regularly, it all goes to heck.
BTW, they must have done a control test at the same time as the TB test. The way it worked for me was the control should react like Donna suggested, the TB should not, indicating you are clean. You won't have TB, almost no one does.

hi Judy! good job with the TB test! bambam's right with the reading. are you on meds that prolong your clotting time and make you bleed? TBs are ID (intradermal) and go just into the skin.....so thats whacky how its purple. thinking of you & hoping your making out at the clinic okay! Immune suppressed patients may not react to a PPD, so a control test is given to determine if they have the ability to react. In order to do this a control test of mumps or candida is injected with the PPD. If the patient does not react to the control test, they will not react to the PPD. Even if it is positive.
