Thanks for the cake....

I posted under the other thread, but wanted to share my thanks in a more visible place...

Hi everyone...thanks for the wishes and hugs. No new bracelets... just the one I got last year that I wear almost every day.  I really do not have that many bracelets...a few beaded ones from art fairs and fund raisers and a couple older gold ones, but I can't wear more than 1 at a time. But I do have my eye on a diamond tennis bracelet!

We went to a lovely Italian restaurant on Saturday. Tavish got me a CD and a DVD, that silly dog know my musical taste!  Leigh got me a very cool digital camera, a Cannon Elph, plus a birthday cake.  Shopping for holiday gifts yesterday, work today, and Chinese dinner tonight.

Yes, b-days after BC are special. Even if nothing out of the ordinary happens, it is another b-day....which means another year of love, life and experiences. Especially with so many losses lately...and even thinking back over the last couple of years, I am so thankful I can hardly stand it. I look at those who have passed before us and I wonder how I have been so lucky. Since my diagnosis and birthday are a week apart, I sort of get a little pensive around this time...my diagnosis was sort of like a birthday to me. It was the first day of the rest of my life, and each Dec. 6 reminds me of it.

Thanks for the well-wishes. Love you all lots...

Great post, Lori. You are soooo right about another year and how great it is to pass another anniversary. This has been an especially hard year and a half for our group.

But Lori, you have it wrong, you can wear more than one bracelet at a time. The reason I tease you about bracelets is because my mother is a bracelet lover and she wears them six or eight at a time. In fact, several years back she was someplace where a man guesses age and weight and he told her age correctly then confided that he guessed because of the number of bracelets she had on. So maybe it is best not to wear more than one at a time. I believe she was in her seventies then, but at 91 she still wears a whole armful. She has to take them off at the airport. LOL.

Have a happy day after birthday. Hugs Mk

LOL....I don't wear more than one just because they bother me...no other reason. The look of 2 or even 3 is fine with me, but more than one just bothers me physically.
