has anyone ever had arthritis develop due to a tick bite?if you have had it how long did it take to manifest itself thanks gingerann
It's not the tick bite that gives you problems, it is Lyme Disease - which if you were bit by a tick, you need to be tested for asap. I think Lyme Disease has other names like Rocky Mountain Fever and one other.
The sooner you are treated, the less likely the prolonged problems (or at the very least the lesser the intensity of them.) Not all ticks carry the disease.
I was never diagnosed with Lymes, though I was tested numerous times because I lived in the woods and was inflicted with arthritis as a child.

Ginger, welcome to the forum. If you are feeling RA symptoms after a tick bite you really need to be tested for lymes. I say it as well as everyone else because that is what causes the problems. Erin is the expert here on that and the effects of not getting treatment right away. Hopefully she comes along to answer your questions.
