Hi all.
The "Brain Shivers" That's an interesting analogy. But, You ain't seen nothing yet. Wait till you go off the stuff! I actually described the brain movement as shudders. I had never experienced them while on it, though. I too was on about 150mg per day, with a supply of 37.5's on the side, "in case". They were my security blanket. I tried going off them once, and found the symptoms returning, so I went back. One day I just looked at them and said, "Okay, we're going to give this a serious go this time" I was feeling better, after 2.5 years, and decided it was time. I found I had a greater sense of my own life and reality once off them, a perspective I never did gain "while under the "influence".
yeah i had similar feelings, when i go off effexor i feel more energy and will to live, ( my doctor doesn't believe this ) , however going off the drug is pretty hard because of what i'd like to call withdrawal symtps ( also my doctor does not aknowledge they exist with anything he perscribes me ) , what i feel is strange feelings, like i don't want to listen to my loved ones i feel they irritate me , steps on the floor irritates me, more feelings of anger for a simple argument, more sex drive , more energy , high deppresion, feelin anxius so i decided to stick with the doctor's plan and not "invent the wheel" , i figured he knows more than i do so might as well continue the course of the drug.. like he asked me to :P
Hi Akram
Sounds like my symptoms as well, when I wasn't ready to end the effexor. Have you tried instituteing your own changes, or gone to therapy? I think I started doing better once I decided to not be a doormat to family, and to think about my years until retirement and what I wanted to do with them. As an at home Mom, I needed to re-educate myself, and enrolled in some short term courses (12 week) to help define myself/goals. Hind sight tells me being proactive has really helped. Really tough to get started though.
i was hospitalized for a month because i was doing destructive behavoir, as a means to run away from deppresion i isolated myself from everything, was playing an internet game for over 12 months. i'm much better now after hospitalization , i was baned from internet for 4 weeks and never to get close to that game for 6 months untill i'm ok. just got my life back toghether and job now, it's bin 3 months since i entered the hospital, and i have some close friends helping me now :)
