Today I find out if it is Cancer or B9

OK ladies today is the day I find out.   Wish me luck.

My appointment is at 2:15est, if it is B9, I will be back at work around 3:30 or 4:00 and let you all know.  If it is not B9, I won't be back till tomorrow.

Wish me luck.

Love to all

Fingers and toes crossed! My diagnosis came immediately after surgery, but I had to wait a week for details. I had to wait longer for my node surgery path report, the waiting is the pits! I found that I did not get anxious till the day the results were due in,..just another way I managed to cope with the stress....

We'll be waiting for your post before the day is over!
Lori

Hi Lori,

I'm just positive it is B9, maybe that is a good thing and maybe it is a bad thing, but we will see in a few short hours.  I'm not to nervous.  But thanks for keeping your fingers and toes crossed.

SnufflesMom yeah
The mantra of B9 is coming your way from Texas. Hope you have no legitimate reason to hang out here. (But, you're always welcome.)

Hugs, Jo-Ann

A good friend will bail you out of jail...
but a true friend will be sitting
next to you saying,
"Dâmn... that was fun!".

Hi Randi.  Joining in on the B9 mantra, with fingers and toes crossed.  Hugs, Libby

Friends are God's way of taking really good care of us.

Thanks Libby, I'm leaving in an hour for the appointment.  Still not to scared, you just think this can't happen to you, well I hope I'm right, but if not, I have a ton of new freinds to help me through the upcoming battle.

Sorry Ladies, but I'm joining the club, it is cancer, stage II, that is as much as I remember.  The mass they removed was not cancer, the cancer was hiding behind the mass.

I have to go back to the doc on Tuesday to decide if I want a masectomy or lumpectomy, then I have surgery on Friday May 5th.

Bring it on, no cancer is gonna scare me.

Thanks for you support

Sorry you got bad news, but if I must say, we are a pretty cool bunch to hang out with....your "slay the dragon" attitude will get you far, hang onto it....

My recommendations....bring a tape recorder (and a person) to your next few doctor's appointments. Under the stress and emotion, there is no way to really GET all of the information. I found it invaluable to go back later and listen to the tape recorded session, that way I could ask all my questions and not have to try and write the answers.

Don't hesitate to seek a second opinion. In my case, I met with the surgeon and then the whirlwind started....meeting with oncologist, rad onc, several tests and then I took all the information to a major comprehensive cancer center...to get their recommendations too. I ended up switching providers because they were eager to do the sentinel node biopsy, whereas the original surgeon was against it.

For me, knowledge was power. I read what I could handle, and it helped me to ask the right questions and make decisions. Please don't feel the need to rush into anything either...if you are not sure what surgery you want, take your time and be sure.

Another tool is to get copies of all your path reports and test results. You can start a file and I found it very handy to have access to these, plus it was empowering to try and read and understand them.

Take 1 day at a time....and know that you CAN do this! I was able to work throughout chemo and rads, it was no walk in the park, but it was very tolerable. We'll be here!
L&H,
Lori

Oh, Randi, I'm so sorry. You've got a great, strong attitude and you will be fine! You'll fight it and come back better than ever! Thanks for letting us know, we were all pretty worried. Sending you positive thoughts! Take care and write with any and all questions!

L&H,
Laure'

I am with you in prayer Randi. We ARE a great bunch of women to hang with.

Take you time and really think about the type of surgery you need. You are going to survive this, just like so many of us.

Hugs to you,

Hi Lori,

Thanks.  I"m ready to rumble........................Ok I work for a Telemedicine company, and the first thing this morning the president came in and told me he is on the phone with all his contacts and finding the #1 surgeon for me.  I have total support here at work and at home and all over.  I'm getting all my reports and xrays and labs today and going to get a second opinion.  My next appointment my girlfeind who is 7 years out from BC and also a RN, is coming to the appointment with me.

Let the games begain.  I will be  frequent guest here now and look forward to spending time with all of you.

Randi

YOU GO GIRL!

:)

Randi,
You have got a lot going for you; a great attitude, a wonderful bunch of women here that care about you and what you said about your work, that's awesome!  I'm so sorry to hear your joined "the club" but happy you found us and have great support in your own circle.

Hang in there and like Tavish said "one day at a time".  It's been the only way for me to tackle it all, just one step one day and one bit at a time.  Otherwise you'll get overloaded.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.  And if you need anything please let one of us know.  We'll be with you every step of the way.

Loving hugs,

Mia

Hi Girls,

Your all so nice, I'm so glad I have you to help me deal with this.  It is gonna be ok, a positive that comes out of this is that I HAVE to stop smoking, so that is a positive.

Bring it on.......................

Randi,
I'm sorry you had to join us, but you're fighting spirit spirit is always welcome here. The next few days & weeks will be tough, but I found that once I had a plan of attack it made things easier.

Randi, I was hoping to come here today and read that you had just gone out to celebrate being B9. I'm sorry to hear that's not the case, but your attitude rocks! And what an awesome support group you have. Both IRL and on here! (You ladies rock, too!)

Trust me ladies there will come a time when I will hit bottom, but right now, it is just get what needs to get done and do it, then feel sorry for yourself, then get over it.

this is life and you deal with what it gives you, or you die!  well maybe not die, but you have to learn to take the good with the bad.

this cancer is going to make me a better person and bring some new and wonderful people into my life, and that is not a bad thing.  Oh and another positve is going into early menopause, no more periods, waaaaaaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooooooooooooooo

Keep fighting ladies.  We are stronger than any cancer.

Plus I could never leave my baby Nootie.
