I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst, as far as pain and discomfort. That way I won't be surprised. My plastic surgeon referred a woman to me on whom he did this procedure in Nov. 2004. I spoke with her the day after Christmas. She is totally happy with her results and has high praise for the surgeon. That made me feel better.

I did not know that you were even considering that at this time. I wish you all the luck in the world and a fast recovery. I will be sitting in the front seat of the PCE pink from head to toe. You will be fine, because you are tough, anyone who has been down this road has to be!

Kathy, I'll be on the PCE too. It's a tough recovery, but I'm happy with mine. Even though I've recently had some problems I'd still do it again. Before you know it, it'll be over and you'll really be on the way to your new life. Sending you pre-op hugs from here. Luci

I wasn't considering this procedure until a couple of months ago. I just can't stand to wear the prosthesis anymore and just wish I could go out in public without having to put it on. My hope is that after all is done, which might include a lift or reduction on the good side, that they'll be perky like a teenager and I can get by wearing just a sports bra! LOL Plus, with the tummy tuck, I'm going to look even better!

I'm with you, Kathy. I can not do this until March and will probably wait until the next March. I hope to find a job soon and do not want to cause any problems with a new position. Please journal if you can so you can e-mail it for all of us considering this procedure.

That's a very good idea. Last Christmas my husband gave me a journal and I only wrote in it a few times. I will add it to the list of things to take to the hospital. I will try to write in it daily, so I can relay the experience to anyone who wants to know. I'm doing this now, because I've been in a temp position at Kaiser and it's been over 2 months now. They really like me and want me to apply for the position. The timing seems to be working out just right. Plus, I want to get all this done now so when I enter the Rad Tech program, I don't have any restrictions. Good luck on the job hunt.

I have never written into one of these "chats" before. I am a brand new member that decided to write because I saw your chats about tram flap surgery. I am scheduled for February 7th to have it done. Any advice you can give me would be appreciated. I am very excited not to have to wear the prosthesis anymore, however I am somewhat nervous. It sounds like such an involved surgery. I have talked with someone that has had the same surgery with the same plastic surgeon, so that helped. I would just like some more points of view.
