My New Doctor has just added Trileptal to my cocktail (for my seizure control )and I was wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom for me ? I am hoping for weight loss !!!!! So far I like this new Doctor. He was easy to talk to and and he took time to listen.

So glad that the doctor was easy to talk to!! I am not sure about loosing weight with trileptal, I know that others have said they found side effects were less than some other meds, especially Tegretol. Hoping it is a good one for you!
Hey, I was on Trileptal at one time... I don't recall having any effect on my weight, I seem to think it was rather neutral in that regard for me. My neuro liked it because it worked like tegretol (were you on tegretol before?) with less side effects as kayakmom says. It didn't help me much unfortunately. I'm glad you like your doctor- that's half the battle with taking all these meds- having a doctor that can really listen to you. Hope it works out. You'll have to let us know how you make out with this one. Glenda
