Uncertainty - looking for support

Hi,

I am currently dealing with Crohn’s disease diagnosed about 3 months ago. Tbh the only symptom I currently seem to have is blood and mucus in the stool. Pain is extremely occasional but I am worried about whether or not I am going to have more issues if I do not go on a biologic. I have tried fixing this issue with the scd diet and after a month and half I still have blood.

Is there anything that is easy with this disease? I’m wondering if it is a case of ulcerative colitis because of the fact that I really am primarily seeing just blood and mucus. But even getting cleared for a biologic seems like jumping through 15 hoops with my insurance and pbm provider (cvs Caremark is awful)
Forgot to mention I’ve been on steroids for the entirety of when I primarily got diagnosed and frankly decided to taper off of them because I was so tired of being on them.
Being a Bengal fan you should be used to uncertainty and worry.!😁
How were you diagnosed?
How long on steroids? Takes a while to work.
Are you seeing a gastro Dr or gp?
Many Drs go straight to biologics instead of bouncing from old med to old med.

Bengal, your symptoms mean you are still flaring. Being on prednisone for months is not good. Work with your gi to get on the medication that can help put you in remission. Crohns can be managed with the right medication. Your gi should appeal any denial from your insurance.

Take care.

It certainly sounds like colitis not Crohn's.
