Want to sleep with out drugs HELP

Hi I am new to this site and am finding a lot of info. I am currently on Lunesta, have been for the past year. Was on 2mg and just moved up to 4mg. I hate the fact that I am building up tollerance and really want to get off these things. I have gone cold turkey on my other meds for other health issues but am finding it really hard to stop the Lunesta. I thought it wasn't habit forming???? I have chronic pain with my fibromyalgia which was just diagnosed about a month ago and prior to that I was treated for symptoms, hence all the meds. I think I could deal with the pain but the fatigue is killing me.
Please help
Thank you Spurfrog
Not sure about using medication with fibro or cfs. At its worst I was having moderate muscle pain/burning sensation and interrupted sleep. I was probably waking up around every 45 minutes to 1 hr and failing to enter the deep stage of sleep that researchers now believe to ben restorative.

All I can suggest is to do what I did. I went on an aggressive anti candida/fatigue diet and cut out all alchohol, caffeine, sugar etc. The exact details of this are a bit complicated but it came from a book by a naturopath called Leon Chaitow that you can probably get still on Amazon. I also use a product called Threelac now which is very helpful for controlling candiasis.

Let me know if you need any more information about this.
Dear Spurfrog,
SSRI's may be your best bet, I have been on the same dosage for years without any tolerance issues. You need to totally understand the condition--poor sleep will only help increase your pain. Improve your sleep, and your pain will be more managable. For years, an SSRI was all I took. A couple years ago, I had to add something for pain but I take it only when necessary. There are some excellent books available that are well- researched. Serotonin is the neurotransmitter thought to be responsible, usually we lack the ability to produce enough. Specific Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors is a class of drugs most helpful for FMS/MPS. I realize doctors often prescribe different medications and I am sure, other combinations may work well. I can only attest to the success of SSRI's.
